No friggin' kidding...sort of wish I hadn't heard about the last episode even if it was just "vague" terms about the end...because I was waiting for it.

Anyways, great show, the episodes get better and better. Amazing how this show just doesn't seem to lose steam year after year, even when it's hard to imagine what other stories they can tell about a serial killer.

What I like (but have found some who don't) is that they allow the character of Dexter and thus, the show, evolve. He is not the same person he was in season one, two or three. His life is moving forward even though some parts of it can't really change. I am so damned intrigued by how he finds or will find a way to deal with the new challenges that he faces in just living his life.

great episode

i too love it when they put in some self realizations - often while standing over a cutting board - like this weeks "i'd rather be found out than be without them"

they've really been forcing the lone wolf thing, but to me dexter hasn't been the lone wolf - he's been the wolf in sheeps clothing

he covers himself by being a part of society and learning to blend in as opposed to the complete isolation, living in the shadows

i also like how people end up going to him for relationship advice ... maybe because he is so clinical and unemotional about emotions

ending was great as well - although I feel bad for Anton (unless he was the trigger man)

does anything think trinity would kill them to protect himself and break his pattern of 3 kills in 3 distinct styles and locations? ... to me it would seem that he would want to make them part of the ritual, like when dexter lured the cop to him and flipped it around

Doesn't seem like Trinity's M.O. in my opinion. They made it look like the vacation murderers, but that seems like too much of a coincidence.

Could be Anton, I guess, as Deb made a mention of him being the jealous type earlier in the episode.

That's what I've been thinking too. But then again, Deb has already dated one killer. Would they have her do it again?

If it is indeed the case, Anton isn't a serial killer like the first time. He's just someone who committed a crime out of passion.

What a crazy ride this season has been..... It has helped me cope with todays Cards loss.

I didn't think this show could still surprise me..... I was dead wrong.

I was just thinking about how nice it was to have Dexter, and some scotch, help me forget the Cards' debacle. This season has been great and John Lithgow has been phenomenal. Next week will be great, but Cards/Vikings will be the #1 priority.

As Debra would say simply...

Holy F.

I almost feel a little sick after that ending...in total and utter shock.

HOLY $#&@ - that is the best way I can describe my feelings. I sat there dead silent for 2-3 min without saying a word mouth wide open just in shock.

WOW, still in shock. Have no clue where this show goes now, hopefully the writers have a good plan...or they have painted themselves into a corner there is no way out of.

Very risky move. Brilliant in that they just made one of the most memorable moments in television history but they could lose some audience (my wife possibly....she's pissed) They've also opened some doors for Dexter but lose some of the story lines I was looking forward to perhaps seeing. Weird to feel sick and be thinking "Brilliant" at the same time.

Know what you mean....that was just a ridiculous ending. I think my sister is going to hate it, but at the same time you can't be anything but shocked and impressed with the writers and actors for pulling it off.

If you have time, go rewatch the last 10 min again knowing what you know and its really kinda creepy how things go down. Its just amazing acting and writing.

I watched the Soprano's..... the Wire......... And pretty much all of the good shows in the last 2 decades. I can't remember a time when I was this shocked.

That was absolutely insane.

I paced around my apartment for a good 20 minutes just thinking, "Holy crap, I can't believe they did that." You have to admire the ballsy move.

Ballsy...awesome...shocking...sickening...just amazing.

****SPOILERS*****

I think if it had just been Rita in the bathtub, it would have been shocking and crazy, but not sickening to me. It was the visual of the boy sitting in the blood that got to me.

Having a 1-year old now has changed a lot of the way I think and feel about things, so this hit me like a ton of bricks when it may not have in the past.

I have heard a few people angry about the show now and wont watch anymore, but it was just too good a season and finale to be able to stop watching :)
