Vilma signed with the Jets this morning. Another #1 in the bag.

At least we have our 4th rounder in.

His defenses were better, on average, than what we've had here.

But why bother? Training camp is about to start. We can be bitching about how our draft picks aren't signed!

Discuss.

Is DG in a wet paper bag attempting to coach a defense, or is he out of a wet paper bag and attempting to coach a defense which is in a wet paper bag?

Also - how often would either situation really happen in reality? :D

Great point. What I'm interested in finding out is whether Coach Green can coach a defense out from under a 4-12 record.

Well, here's a photo I took of Green coaching the defense at the last minicamp. I think this answers your questions.

Dare I say it, but can we actually get worse? :stick:

I see 2 flaws with that picture. Looks more like Coach Mac, not that I would know anything about his body or anything. Well, now I dug myself into a hole. Crap...

If he coaches us out from under it, wouldn't it fall? What would it fall to? 3-13?

His defenses were nothing special regardless of what the stats suggest. The defenses benefitted from the higher scoring nature of his offense and the fact it made opponents offenses more one dimensional. That will make any defense look alot better when they basically know what is coming.

IMO, having watched quite a bit of Viking football over the years, his DB corps generally were very average but were made to look better by the near devastation his offense caused.

This years offense had better be pretty damn special to help out this defense because right now, the Cards DB corps is horrible looking. If, and only if Starks comes back 100% and plays all 16, then the Cards DBs will become very average. JMHO

Am I that transparent?

Anyway, the team is in a paper bad, and it's one of those that you might get from a department store. Bigger than a grocery bag, but it's more flat and much flimsier. It's wet from the tears of Cardinals fans.

Is the bag made out of recycled paper?

And will we recycle it when we are through with the bag?

I always remember Denny having good D lines and safeties and little else.

It's not recycled, in fact, if and when we get out of the bag, we'll laminate it to make sure that it never is cycled again. We don't want to get coached out of a wet paper bag only to find ourselves in it again a season or two down the road. We should only recycle good things, IMO (like peppermint ice cream that you can only seem to find in stores around the holidays).

Wouldn't it be better to question if CP could coach a defense out of a wet paper bag?

More importantly, what's for lunch and who's buying?

Niether could McGinnis or Maramie.

At least we have an offense now.
