While I would prefer Haren, because I think he is able to be aquired more easily, especially since the A's love young talent that Arizona has, the Dbacks would be better off investing in a player like Santana.

Johan Santana is the better pitcher, a lefty, and even maybe more importantly to the organization, he is a recognizable name that will sell tickets for the next few years. Casual baseball fans know Johan Santana. He is a Cy Young winner with a reputation for the best change-up in baseball. That would give the D'backs the best sinker and the best change-up in baseball. With names like Johan Santana, Brandon Webb, Randy Johnson, Micah Owings (for his bat especially) in the starting rotation, that only gives one day of a boring game to watch- Davis. As a paying customer, you are watching pitching matchups, and what Johan Santana offers, is a good performance every five nights...

The D'backs should look to unload Chris Carter, Gonzalez, maybe a Byrnes (since they are losing Tori Hunter), Conor Jackson, Tony Pena-(while his value is high), Callaspo, Nippert, and any other midlevel prospect to combine with Chris Carter and Gonzalez.

Well first MIN would not want anyone except Chris Young, Upton, and maybe Drew. For what the Tigers paid for Cabrera & Willis MIN will get alot for Santana.

Second we don't have the money Santana will comand next year so that would also be a deal killer.

They'd be giving all that up for essentially one year of Santana.

No thanks. Yes, Johan is the premier pitcher in baseball, and quite frankly on a different stratosphere from the rest of the pitchers on this globe, however what's the point of getting him when he's going to bolt at season's end anyhow?

Give me Haren, who will be here for the next three over a one year rental.
