Do you think this team reaches the 4.5 runs per game that they scored last season? I think that they will be under that. They were 4th best in the NL last year, with darn near exactly the same production as in their "magical" year in 2011.

Offense was not the problem...

Win 2 out of 3 at home and break even on the road will get you about 95 wins and a trip to the playoffs. Steady and consistent wins the race.

Uh oh. Nothing but singles and doubles in Game 1 and we win.

An early opposite field HR in Game 2, then the D'backs are putting too many balls in the air and we lose.

An early opposite field HR in Game 3, then the D'backs are putting too many balls in the air and we are losing.

If Gibson is reading the position players the riot act, it isn't showing.

If this keeps up, it's going to be a long season.

Parra continues his hot streak with a triple. Prado gets a hit, Hill too and Miggy with the RBI out.

4-3 now with Goldy up, a runner on 3rd and 1 out. Keep the wheels turnin', boys!

Dbacks hanging in there. 7-7 off a Prado 2 run HR.

Side note, Berthiaume and Brenly is such a great pairing. Best in baseball?

8-7 Cards after a Molina HR.

I am really enjoying Brenly and Steve. I noticed Steve is calling Brenly "Bob" today and not "BB" like the past two games. He overused "BB" the first game and probably got some feedback on that.

Going to be longest game in Dbacks history unless we get a run right away

Good thing we have Thursday off, hopefully the game will be over before we have to show up in Milwaukee.

do we have pinch hitters for cliff pennington and JJ Putz?
So glad they didn't pinch hit for Pennington. That guy was awesome in the extra innings. Had like 2 great defensive plays and 3 hits to include the walk off single.

Whew, thanks Cliff from saving us from Heath Bell. Collmenter was the man tonight. Great tough win!

Bring on the Brew Crew!

I actually stayed up for the entire thing. Don't know if I could do 16 innings at the park, thoug.

Great to start the season 2-1 and win the series against STL.

Guess every player has his niche, remember Quinton McCracken? He only ever got hits in the 8th inning, maybe Pennington only shows up in extra innings :D

I did. Ended up being a lot of fun. (Although if we lost I would have been pissed...)
