Hopefully the Dbacks will take advantage of the break they got with the Garza trade and not let the newbie look like he is Cy Young.

AAA pitcher dominating the Diamondbacks. Has only given up one hit while he has a hit himself.

How much are we paying Montero? This dipchitz swings at ball 4 on a 3-0 count, man on third, then completes his mess by striking out.

Gawd all mighty. 2 innings in a row with man on third and we can't score. We couldn't play up to speed in triple A right now. :thumbdown

The future of this team is bleak. Towers has made way too many bad contracts. In order to get rid of any of the numerous bad contracts, he will have to throw in a top-minor league prospect. Towers is easily the worst GM this team has had.

21k attendance with the Cubs in town? Not sure who's lost more faith -- the players or the fans.

This is not going to end well.

We fall out of 1st place by losing to the Cubs at home? THE CUBS?!?!?!?!?

Perhaps the best thing for this team is for us to lose every single came we have remaining, then fire/get rid of everyone, from top to bottom, excepting Goldy and Corbin. Then perhaps we can start putting together a decent team.

BTW, I erred in an earlier post. We couldn't play up to speed in double A ball.

GAHHHHHHH!!!

There were probably 20k Cubs fans.

Why in the world would anyone pay money to see this excuse for a ball club play?

Sadly we have a ton of money invested in offensive starters that are unmovable. We're kind of stuck with guys like Prado/Ross/Montero. Not good.

Agreed - the lack of power production from our OF/3B have become evident. Kubel/Ross/Prado specifically hurt us since they're regulars and have underachieved this season.

Ultimately I would love to jettison both Kubel & Ross. Though Kubel's $7mil/yr salary comes off the books at the end of the season, Ross is owed another $9mil/yr for two more seasons making him virtually untradeable. Ultimately, I think Kubel is a likely a DFA or Waiver Trade Deadline candidate and the OF remains status quo.

Unless we find someone to take Ross, I think we're stuck with this situation for a while.

We just got passed today by a team with a 220M payroll while ours is 89M. Seems we have done fairly well with what we were given.
