How much are we paying Montero? This dipchitz swings at ball 4 on a 3-0 count, man on third, then completes his mess by striking out.

Gawd all mighty. 2 innings in a row with man on third and we can't score. We couldn't play up to speed in triple A right now. :thumbdown

That was one of the worst at-bats I've ever seen. Gibby is a moron for keeping Montero in the 4-5-6 slot. He needs to be batting 8th, a slot he has earned this year. He swung on ball 4, ball 5, and ball 6. Stupid AB.

We just got passed today by a team with a 220M payroll while ours is 89M. Seems we have done fairly well with what we were given.

I'd like that discrepancy more if I could rub it in Dodger fan's noses that albatross contracts don't necessarily win pennants.

That is true and we should keep that in mind... However, nobody can deny that we are the better team and got beat, rather DOMINATED by a guy who can throw harder than 88 mph, and had a whopping 3 innings pitched in the majors prior to last night!
I don't think the Rays, A's and Pirates would look to thee size if payroll as out for such pathetic performance...

It is what is is, we are trying to compete with a payroll 2 1/2 our size. Size does matter.

Hmmm... Chavez in at 3rd, Prado to second and Hill sits. Hill has been coming up empty at the plate as well, so perhaps a day off is in order... Though, no one has done much of anything, recently

After trailing 8 to 3, the Dodgers explode for 7 runs and now lead 10 to 8... Damn they are en fuego...

Meanwhile Corbin is already at 61 pitches thru 3 innings, while we are being no hit and shutout...

Finally 6 runs, I was afraid I'd have to go to the grocery store.

I didn't realize the Cubs had become the dumping ground for Dbacks castoffs. Jackson, Hairston, Gillespie, Ransom, and (technically) Navarro. There isn't much talent on that team.

Glad we won, but we're still in 2nd. Also, I hate stat-padding games like this. Score some runs in the first and second innings then make their SP throw lots of pitches and to have them sweat a little in the early innings.

Almost gave Corbin another undeserved ND.

I don't. Believing you can score 10 runs has to be better for the confidence than another shutout.

I see Hernandez stunk it up again, allowing a 2 run shot. Trade him. He hasn't been worth a chit for quite a while.

'Twill be interesting to see if we can get more than 2 hits tomorrow.....

BTW - if you watched the game on TV, did you think Ross was safe on his double play ball?

He looked safe to me, but I was at the game watching in real time.

Angel Hernandez was at 1B, and we know how much he screws the Dbacks.

Eaton 3-4, 3 runs.
I think the entire team needs to sport the Pornstache.

I thought he looked out and Hernandez is an equal opportunity screwer! The worst in all of baseball and the guy that recently caused Chipper Jones to state that he will never watch another game where Hernandez is an ump...
