Wilson, Pennington and Marte are in the lineup tonight to support Cahill...
A.J. Pollock cf....... .266
M. Prado 3b.......... .216
P. Goldschmidt 1b.. .299
C. Ross rf............. .281
M. Montero c......... .198
A. Marte lf..............205
J. Wilson 2b.......... .231
C. Pennington ss.... .200
T. Cahill p............. .000

6 out of our 9 batters in tonight's lineup are hitting .216 or less. There are times that platoon baseball is not the best idea.

Cahill is probably downing a chocolate cake to put all those pounds back on just seeing it in print. :)

Cahill is showing what he can do if he just turns off his brain a little and PITCHES. His stuff has always been really, really good. He just seems to think too much.

Another blown save by Putz. After tonight he better not be the closer. Anyone but Putz.

How the heck do you let a guy bat in the 8th then pull him at 88 pitches?

I had a bad feeling as soon as Gibby left the dugout. Cahill was only at an easy 88 pitches. Have to put this one on Gibson, whatever the outcome.

Once again no offense. And yes, Gibby made a big mistake in yanking Cahill. And yes, Putz has clearly overstayed his welcome...

Pretty standard practice what Gibby did...

Okay give me 5 examples in last two seasons where a manager let the pitcher hit at below 100 pitches and then yanked him after 1 batter in the 9th. It is standard and all....

Oops!!! Perhaps Putz can come down with "an elbow injury" and spend some time (at least 30 days) on the injured list.

5 saves against 4 blown saves? That's effing crazy....

You have a pitcher who's throwing a great game.. 9th inning in a 1 run game, lead off hitter reaches base and your closer is ready and you bring him in..? How's that UNcommon. We're not talking about Verlander here buddy
