McCarthy had too good of an effort to have Heath Bell piss it away. Smfh

I was screaming at the TV for Gibson to let McCarthy pitch the 9th. He had a shutout going and was under 90 pitches. What happened to the philosophy of leave him unless and until he gives up a hit in the 9th? And now it's 4-2 Phillies with 1 out in the top of the 10th.

I keep trying to give Gibson the benefit of the doubt. He's gotten some good results. But, sooner or later, micro-managing catches up with you.

McCarthy should have been allowed to complete the game... Even though Bell has been very good over the past few weeks, he was bound to lay am egg sooner or later. And in a game where our starter was so in control and not struggling, Bell should never have been on the game... Uggghhh...

Today was pitiful, pathetic and an embarrassment. Batters with no discipline at all, Goldy looking absolutely lost as a PH, and Bell urinating windward. This blown save crap has simply got to stop.

100%. McCarthy's pitch count was 87 going into the 9th. Why not let him finish his gem? He was dealing, and had the opportunity to not only close the door on the game, but give the bullpen some added rest. We lost game, but we also used two BP arms, including our closer, that we really should not have had to use. Plus, we don't have a day off, tomorrow.
