I say nah... he probably didn't think it through, was planning to see his family and one of his friends invited to hang out with him on the sidelines...

I'd like more data before I cast a vote. If he did it without the Cards knowing, "Yes", if he did it and they knew, then "No".

No.

It is not like he joined the Cowboys on the bench or gave away the playbook or something.

If he doesn't have meetings or whatever he can do what he wants.

no, now if he was on the sideline and the cowboys happened to be our next opponent for the week then that would raise my feathers,
but he has to much history with them just be happy he is doing some good things for us now

Yes the more I think of it. The more I think he betrayed us. I am pretty pissed about it. I still want to see what Denny thinks of it though.

WTF did he do? Stood on the sidelines of a team that he played with for 12 years? Who cares???? He talked up the Cardinals when MNF interviewed him. Is he a prisoner and not allowed to go against the collective that is the Arizona Cardinals? Some of you need to chill out!

He is a member of the Arizona Cardinals not the Dallas Cowboys.

If he wants to do that crap he should wait until he is retired.

He was also quoted as saying Jerry Jones is still his boss.

Actually I would prefer for our players to visit their former teams the week before we play them. If that isn't good game planning, what is? :)

I don't see the harm in it. Obviously he could only have limited (if any)contact with the team during the game. Is it the sideline versus the owner's box versus the press box versus some other hoity-toity Dallas business luxury box that is the big deal?

As long as Emmitt rushes for 2 TDs per week, he can go to every MNF game. Hell, he can hug a naked Nicolette Sheridan too. Hell, let me hug her and Emmitt can watch!

It's absolutely assinine to even ask this question.

I go back to California all the time to visit family and friends. I've gone to 49er games and SF Giants games with them. That doesn't mean I'm a 49er fan or Giant fan.

But you are not employed by competing teams and watching the game from their dugout.

No way he should have been on the sidelines of the Cowboys. Going to the game is one thing.

I said yes, although I'd choose something like "bad form" before I'd say "betrayed."

I don't feel betrayed, it just reminded me of how lame the signing was in the first place. Yes, I know he's having a good season, and I sing his praises for every TD he scores or record he adds, but statistically he's in the middle of the pack as far as starting tailbacks go. Last year was a flop. This off-season we're going to be addressing a need we should have been addressing two seasons ago, instead of signing a Cowboy fan favorite.

No!!!

There's nothing wrong with being gracious.
Emmitt did talk up the Cards and Green.
ABC threw up the Cards logo while he was being interviewed.
I have good relations with most of my ex girlfriends...

This is such a non-issue. It is flat out stupid to say Emmitt "betrayed" us. He went to Dallas, told everybody he was going to Dallas, did nothing to comprimise the team like missing a meeting or anything, went out of his way NOT to be noticed and when he was noticed, then ASKED to be interviewed, talked up the Cardinals( in a big way) during the interview. Thats called being polite and respectful.
He could have taken a swipe at Parcells and Jones for being released but he didn't. He gave them their due respect.
By the way, when is the last time ANYBODY even said the word CARDINAL on MNF?
If this bothers you then you really have too much time on your hands and must look at life as the glass being half empty. You need to focus on something positive.
Take a swipe at me for my opinion if you like, cause I won't be back to this thread.
I've got happier things to think of like a playoff run.

I think it was shortly after Elway signed with the Broncos after the trade with the Colts. They mentioned he was a Stanford Cardinal.

Do these ******** think it would have been okay if he was on the Eagles' sideline?

So, from your perspective, if I go to work for another company that is in direct competition with my former company, I shouldn't be able to have a beer with my former co-workers? It's a business, but there are relationships that get established too. You don't root against people that you have history with just because you're someplace else. It's a different division anyway so who cares? As much as I hate the Cowboys, he has every right to support his former team. Quite frankly, it's refreshing to see a person that has class, as opposed to someone like T.O. calling his former qb a homosexual.

People...People...People. I must say that you all are being wankers. This is Emmitt Smith...the all time leading rusher of the NFL. We are lucky to have him. He has been a great addition to this franchise. He said nothing negative about the Cards. Let me tell you what I think. Honestly, I believe that Parcells ran him out of Dallas. Emmitt left gracefully(media). I am sure he still has great friendships there and people that he sincerely loves and cares about. He would not cheat...he is a card and he knows it. As long as he is in a cards uni on sunday...he can visit whoever he wants. Get off the mans jock. Have some respect.
