Betrayed no. Slapped in the face yes. Montana didn't appear in a 49ers sideline after they traded him to KC.

I admire his loyalty. As long as it doesn't cross the Cards I think he should be able to support his old team. And all these players that have take shots at their former teams (unless there is seriously good cause-as in the case of Marcus Allen), I feel that is a betrayal to their old fans. All these people that supported Emmitt for years in Dallas, don't really deserve to have to listen to him trash the old team. How do you think the guy in Cinci feels, who spent 250 bucks on a Corey Dillon jersey, listening to him now ridiculing the Bengals at every opportunity? Emmitt has way too much class for that. Even though I'm sure he does have at least a little bit of bitterness.

This is such a non-issue. It is flat out stupid to say Emmitt "betrayed" us. He went to Dallas, told everybody he was going to Dallas, did nothing to comprimise the team like missing a meeting or anything, went out of his way NOT to be noticed and when he was noticed, then ASKED to be interviewed, talked up the Cardinals( in a big way) during the interview. Thats called being polite and respectful.
He could have taken a swipe at Parcells and Jones for being released but he didn't. He gave them their due respect.
By the way, when is the last time ANYBODY even said the word CARDINAL on MNF?
If this bothers you then you really have too much time on your hands and must look at life as the glass being half empty. You need to focus on something positive.
Take a swipe at me for my opinion if you like, cause I won't be back to this thread.
I've got happier things to think of like a playoff run.

I say absolutely YES!

WTF! I do not care if he sits with the devil as long as he gives it his all when he plays for us and I feel confident he gives us all he has on every play. This is a class guy and he has friends of many years on the Cowboys. What is he going to do? Give away our playbook?

Was Jake wrong when he put Pat Tillmans number on his Bronco uniform? Lot of people thought so but I think that is a lot of nonesense. Tillman was his friend and to Jakes credit he stood by his friend. Play hard on the field but stand by your friends off the field. Anyone think Emmitt is going to play with less emotion because he stood on the sidelines with his friends is smoking something. I do not think we need Emmitt next year but it is not because of a lack of effort or being a team guy. If we could get just part of Emmitts emotions and effort into some our players we would be better off. It is just that time is passing him buy. One of the best of all time both as a player and human being. He did not take the team plane back from Miami as he led a convoy of 6 trucks full of supplies to his home town of Pensicola which was devistated by one of the hurricanes. He of course paid for this.

Wow.

I was shocked and dismayed when I saw a member of our team, on the sidelines of another NFL team DURING THE SEASON.

That it was the hated cowpukes made it even worse.

That I had Emmitt rammed down my throat last year, just made me think once again how pathetic that move was.

I've been watching NFL football since the 60's. I know I've NEVER seen a player from some other team on the sidelines of an NFL game during the season.

NEVER.

I challenge every single person on this board to name ONE SINGLE TIME that it's EVER happened before in the history of the NFL.

Joe Namath interviewed on NY Jets sidelines, the year he played for the Rams.

Screw Namath too :)

Gotta admit I don't remember it but it probably happened.

I've now read 2 blurbs where Tafoya said she was surprised by the whole thing. FWIW she said Emmitt was standing not directly with the team, on the sideline, and that he had seats just off the sideline. SO he wasn't standing next to Roy Williams or something.

Still don't like it.

Did'nt Poole sit in the Packer's box.

poole isn't an ex Packer, that was the question, a guy who goes back and stands on his ex teams sideline.

the example KOC gave was if Jake came back and stood on our sideline, of course we'd have to get on MNF first for that to happen.

Namath played for the Rams in 1977.

There were no byes in 77, so the only way Namath could have been on the sidelines for a Jets game, would be a Monday Night Football game.

In 1977, the Jets went 3-11 for the second consecutive year, and although the archived schedule for the Jets in 1977 doesn't say what day a game was played, there are 7 days between each game that year, so they were not on Monday Night.

Namath retired the next year in 1978, and was probably honored by the Jets then. After he had retired.

Is that when he hit on Kolber?

Why is this a story?
Because we don't have the late in the season, who are the Cards going to take with there very high draft pick debate to argue about. Now we have McCown and Emmitt on the sidelines to argue about. :D
