Didn't CARDS fans come on this board and say "This year would be different..."

is this really the case? I know a lot of people who moved to the Valley and don't like the Suns, but mock the Cardinals - they make themselves easy targets.

also, you're kind of calling out most people on the Suns boards as bandwagon fans and I think that's pretty off-base.

As a Suns hater maybe I should answer. My reason for hating the Suns has been documented.

A lot of transplants to PHX seem to be from PITT, KC, STL and Buffalo....at least in my neigborhood. There are no NBA teams in those markets, so they'll follow the Suns. But the Chiefs and Steelers fandom will remain.

Also, PHX is very fair weather on the whole. The market is too saturated with teams for people to be able to afford having several pairs of STs if all the teams aren't winning.

On top of this, Suns ST holders, especially in the lower bowl, have a reputation as snobs.

Funny that you mention those other cities when it is common knowledge that the largest group of transplants came from Chicago. Which does have a basketball team.

And I don't see how a person from Pittsburgh following the Suns is a "bandwagon" team. I live in L.A., and if we ever get a football team, I'd probably follow them. As it is, I moderately follow the Cardinals through this board.

By your reasoning, any people living in Buffalo or Pittsburgh or St. Louis have no right being fans of any team, right? I'm sure it would be ok for you if they were Laker fans, huh?

The Laker fan harping about how Suns fans are bandwagoners. Cute.

Nope, I'm a huge suns fan, get a flex pack every year(wish I could afford Cards season tix and Suns). But I'm willing to bet that my theory is pretty darn accurate.

It's true to the extent that Phoenix is a notorious front running town. Cheese was talking about posters on Suns boards though, the vast majority of which have been long time fans of the team.

Most of the Cardinals fans are also Suns fans.... I think both teams can find solace in the fact that they both share common denominators in strings of bad luck and fair weather fandom

More people jump on the Suns bandwagon when the times are good but their stadium is just as empty during the downer years

Common knowledge yet you don't even live here. I said in my neigborhood. A lot of Texans too....but why would they switch when the Mavs own the Barneys.

I lived in Phoenix for 21 years, so there is no leg to stand on when you bring up the "you don't even live here" excuse. And I lived in Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa and Chandler in my years there.

And if it's just in your own neighborhood, does that make it ok to use that to make a broad generalization about the whole city?

Freaking Laker fans...

isn't chap in his 20's? if so, i think that, after living here for 21 years and then moving a few years ago, he's still within the statute of limitations to comment as a local boy.

as for that last bit...

that comeback had the sharp sting of "i'm rubber, you're glue..."

I've lived here for 27 years....I guess by the little Nanny Nanny Boo Boo game I'm better than you.

I'll only be a Laker fan until the next game the Suns play. Fan of whoever they are playing mentality.

You are thisclose to being cool...I wish we could cure you of that Sunsfluenza so you could be completely awesome. So much potential in you, and it's just wasted. WASTED.

It doesn't matter if you lived in Phoenix for 27 years, it's pretty stupid to proclaim my opinion irrelevant because I don't live in Arizona anymore.

Here's the funny thing: You're a guy who doesn't like the Suns, fine. You use the reason that it's because there are so many bandwagon fans.

But which team do you adopt?

The Lakers.

That's pretty funny.

The funny part is that he didn't even adopt the Lakers. He only does it because it pisses off Suns fans because of some perceived rivalry. Suns fans hate the Lakers like the Lakers fans hate the Celtics.

LOL...what part of "I'm a fan of whoever plays the Suns" don't you understand??

Did I say I don't like them because of all the bandwagon fans....maybe a part of it. But mostly because their fans are arrogant snobs. How long had you had STs down in the lower bowl?? Are you speaking from experience with this one??

What does having season tickets have to do with it?

Do you regularly sit in the lower bowl of AWA?? The fans down their are snobs....and the Ushers actually encourage you not to cheer.

Just curious, how many lower bowl season ticket holders do you know? And how did you get confirmation about the ushers?

No, I do not sit in the lower bowl of AWA, but I'll take the question as you calling me a snob for liking the Suns...
