That play was vintage Cardinals, almost like the last vestiges of the old ghosts had to have one more go at us.

I equate it to Buckner's through the legs play, and as such it's more an indication that the old ways are dying rather than still getting stronger but it's still there just the same.

Yup... for sure there are many other instances in this game to point out (as there always are)... However, in the end we let a slow, clearly gassed big guy run free for 100 yards and score a TD with no time on the clock. Unheard of really... ugghhhhhh.... :bang:

You have to have been a fan for a while to get how only we could have that particular play happen.

Seriously it's going down as like the biggest play ever in terms of turning points and of course that's the record we get.

We also almost had the biggest point comeback ever 13, the very football Gods themselves were at war and we lost after the dust settled, only the Cardinals could lose in such a fashion it's perfect in it's perfectness.

Here is my take and let it be known I am reputed for my unwavering faith in the kid and what he will do under center.

I have been the biggest "warner puts up his stats in meaningless games and can't win the big one" guy on this board. Especially for the last 8 games of the regular season when I was booing him in the first half of the last Seattle game at U of P.

My premise is that he will do just enough to tease you but ultimately you will lose. My feeling is we could never win the big one with him.

And I am here to say I was wrong in that assessment.

Warner played heroically in the playoffs and while he has his faults (can't play in bad weather) he was better then I could have ever dreamed during this run.

I am not going to say that he made the right play with that Pick 6. That sucked horribly. But I have been saying all day that was more of a great defensive play and he SHOULD be forgiven in that he got us the lead in the 4th quarter. Christ he completed 10 straight at one point.

I certainly don't blame the defense as they had a herculean effort but it would have been nice if they could have made a play at the end. So I don't agree with Mokler and IA there as like Kurt they played well enough to win but had one glaring mistake (the last drive)

I am ready for the Matt Leinart era when Wiz is but I think its hard to come down on Kurt for yesterday. That was a top notch defense and the DPOY there making a play.

Well don't get your heart too set on Matt ever being our QB of the future, it may happen but it is as likely as not that it won't IMO just because of how it's going down and I'm not that torn up about it frankly.

I said all year Warner should start over Matt but that does not exempt Warner for that play.

I have heard all the explanations I care to hear on it, the fact is he turned the ball over, the pick 6 part made it tons worse but just giving up the tie was the Cardinal sin IMO.

I've seen this team do that too many times, having a sure three, going for the TD and blowing it all this year to let this go.

Great teams, Super Bowl teams take the points given to them when they're there and we did not do that and Kurt only had to whiff the ball out of bounds twice to achieve that.

There is no excuse for that throw, none, if you all want to ban me for this just ban me, make fun of me, heck make vodoo dolls out of my internet likeness I don't care I'm not changing my mind and that's my last word on this.

I'm sorry but how anyone can get down on Warner for yesterday is beyond me. That int was a bad choice but he should have been brought down numerous times. It should have been a short run back, and just stopped us from scoring.

As for officiating. It was OK except for the series of three calls in the same drive. The face mask that wasn't, then then roughing the passer call (How can you expect a man Dansby's size to stop dead in his tracks when he had already started leaning in?), finally the call against Wilson. He was tripping over and couldn't stop, just plainly couldn't stop.

Still, I don't feel that bad today. I'm proud to have been able to watch the Cardinals fight like they deserved to be there and am excited for next year.
