The only one riding the bench right now is Matt "bust" Leinart. I cannot wait until Warner retires so Patrick Willis can pick on lil Matty for the next couple of seasons.

Smith is putting up comparable numbers to the likes of Palmer, Flacco, Ryan, VY etc...That is very respectable considering that he didn't have a chance to practice with the 1st teamers for almost half a season. This offense is still brand spankin new. what did you expect? Raye is a first year 49ers OC, Morgan is a 2nd year guy, Crabtree missed the whole damn offseason and the first 5 games, VD is breaking out for the first time. Gore is the only consistent offensive player that we have. You can't expect all these guys to just jump in and start scoring 4 TDs a game.

With that said, as long as we are in the NFC West, we will be at least 4-2 each season then we'll just need to start winning those close games outside of the division. We have one of the youngest teams in the league and they will learn how to pack away close games soon. As long as the Cards, Rams and Seahawks are still here...the Niners have ZERO worries.
See, this is where I keep having a problem with niner fans. They keep talking about the close losses. The fact that good win and bad teams lose close games is lost on them. They just don't seem to get how they figure into that equation.

pssst...you are the one losing the close games. ie: the 'bad' team.

All I have to say is Smith is a lifetime LOSER versus Arizona. Getting beat 3 out of 5 times he started. The team as a whole is a LOSER versus Arizona since drafting Smith. Down 6 to 4.

Meanwhile Mr.Warner, a real NFL QB, is 10-4 versus the 4and9ers.

Okay.

So if Mr. Dilfer says this, and Niners are a better team than their record, is the NFC West REALLY the weakest division in football ?

I guess not. Next season is going to be a great one. The Cardinals, Niners rivalry will be even more crazy if that is even possible.

But, that is all future talk. We got work to do this year.

According to Sando, yes.

Kind of hard to see the NFC North as better when the NFC West Champ is 3-0 against the North this season scoring a combined 102 points and garnering 1,176 yards of offense. And two of the games were on the road.

Yeah, you have no worries. Of course, you haven't beat that bunch for a division title in what.... 7 or 8 years?

This sounds very familiar to me. it's exactly the kind of crap we'd talk at the end of each unsuccessful season. "Gosh, if we just won those close games we'd be so awesome!" :claphat:

2009 was a another bad season for the Niners. No matter how you spin it, you guys choked.

Ive gone as far as to admit that you have a good defense generating tons of turnovers.

But I look at the Bears game and the Cards game, where you forced 5 and 7 turnovers respectively. And respectively, you scored 10 and 24 points. A good team would score in the high 30s or 40s given those opportunities. Your offense struggles when they have to start in your own territory.

Right now, you are polishing a major turd and you should know better than I that you need serious help on that side of the ball. I understand you have a new OC, but without quality talent, you will be one dimensional

Really? Then why couldn't you beat the Seahawks with your season on the line? Seems you still have plenty to worry about but at least you can relax after this weekend.

We still have the playoffs to worry about. See ya sucker!

Go hard you crack me up...1st off, You could only dream of having Warner run your team and its pretty hillarious to call Leinart a Bust because he is being sat infavor of a future hall of fame QB.

From what I have witnessed your QB has a lot of tools and has been hampered by the O.C. Coordinator revolving door, but he is a turnover machine and melts in crunch time.

As far as I am concerned, the jury is still out on Smith.

As for Leinart, the jury is still out on him, for he has only started 16 games in his career. He certainly is not a bust and, when his time comes, will most likely be proven to have a better career than Alex Smith.

And for your last paragraph: LOL! You beat the Cards twice THIS year, THIS year and lost TWICE to Cards LAST season. So please dont come on here sounding off like a petulant moron and think you will perrenially run over the Cards because you won twice THIS season.

Especially since they had lost 6 of the last 8 to Arizona coming into this season. Warner owns the 49ers; 10-2 going into the 2009 season. Until he's gone they will be a distant second to the Cards.

No, I do not want Kurt Warner. He won't be able to do anything on this team. He needs top notch receiver talent in order to succeed. I've even said that last offseason when Singletary was recruiting him away from the Cards.

Smith has had 12 ints and 2 fumbles while Warner has had 14 ints and 11 fumbles. Who is really the turnover machine?

And then talking past glory, Warner hasn't done anything since 1999. Yea he made the SB last year only to choke it away Rex Grossman style with a pick 6 when the Cards was about to score.

I give respect where respect is earned. Sorry for not being scared of a team that the Niners have BEATEN DOWN TWICE this season.

They are going to be a trendy pick ALL offseason. And, that is something I actually prefer. Let them get all the meaningless preseason hype.
Just like they were declared division winners after the 3rd game of the season...

yet you're constantly on here touting niner players, like Josh Morgan. What have those clowns done to deserve any respect? The only guy on the roster who has earned any respect is Patrick Willis. Gore could be if they had an OC who knew how to use him. He has Gore in his backfield yet tries to build his offense around Smith :doi:. Smith is the kind of QB you try to hide in the offense and have him try and not lose the game, not a QB you build around.

Then you say Warner hasn't earned respect. Well, that shows you know nothing. I guess it shouldn't surprise me considering you think Sheldon Brown is a better CB than DRC.

As mentioned before by ? A BS no TD call on Bertrand Berry's fumble recovery in the first game & we win.

"Sorry for not being scared of a team that the Niners have BEATEN DOWN TWICE this season."

Sorry for not taking a team that was NO THREAT to win the division seriously.

And we're also not afraid of a team the Cards had BEATEN DOWN 6 times in 8 tries going into this season and as for Warner one thing he has proven is that he OWNS the 4and9ers whipping them 10 times in 14 starts.

Like the Texas Longhorns, the Cards have higher goals than just beating one team. That's why the Cards will be playing again next weekend and the whiners won't and Texas is playing Thursday for the National Championship while the Aggies watch on TV.

The San Francisco Aggies. Has a certain symmetry to it.
SF has even adopted the Aggies annual cry: Wait'll next year!

It sure is fun being on top and listening to the whining and excuses from the also rans fans.

lol, get your stats straight Gosoft...

Warner 14 games (14 started): 507 Atts, 26td 14 INTS; 11 Fumbles (6 lst)
Smith in 10 game (9 started): 344 Atts, 17 td,12 INTS; 2 Fumbles (1 lst)

Your boy has 2 less ints in 163 fewer attempts and has QB rating of 80.

Warner has rating of 93.

Your boy has thrown at least one INT in 6 of 9 (66%) games he's started

Warner: 7/14 (50%)

Your boy's record as a starter: 4 wins 5 losses

Warner: 10-4

Your boy: leads team to the couch.

Warner: has chance take Cards to second straight Super Bowl.
