He wasn't.

He was just mentioned as part of Bad Horse's Evil League of Evil.

call me crazy, but it's about time we had one of these guys on the defense. I don't think it's a negative to be known as "the dirtiest player in the NFL". That means at some level, for right or wrong, teams fear that guy. Every great D has that and always have.

Its too bad AW isnt having a great season for him... more people would be exposed to the best safety in the NFL...

I don't espouse this position. Wilson, under Pendergast, has developed into a superior NFL strong safety. He may be the best blitzer at that position. Maybe in the top 5 or 6 in run support. Only in the 2nd 10 in pass coverage.

He's one of our best defensive players, one I had thought was a bust three years into his career.

This reminded me of Chuck Cecil. Maybe not the "dirtiest" but "one of the most vicious and hardest hitting players in NFL history." We only had him a year or two, IIRC.

I don't even think AW is the dirtiest player on his own team, Dockett is.

Actually, Antrel Rolle has twice tried to rip the face mask off a player... To me, that is beyond dirty. :bang:

True. Adrian's fines tend to be on hits that are borderline but because of his past history of fines, he gets fined again.

Dockett is good for almost one personal foul a game, and they're very rarely debatable they're usually blatantly obvious. Now he's playing so well you just learn to live with them but he is on the verge of being dirty often during games.

I think if you asked RB's, QB's and OL's who our dirtiest player is Dockett would be damn near unanimous. If you ask WR's you might get AW, and if you ask Larry Johnson or DeAngelo Williams, you'd get Rolle.

Such BS! AW is not a dirty player; he is an old school tough as nails player. I cant think of a single game where he acted dirty.

Funny thing though, look at the picture in the article.

Its clear it wasn't a helmet to helmet hit. That pic looked as clean as it gets

Since joining the league seven seasons ago, Wilson has more personal fouls (17) than any other player in the game, and in the past year alone he was fined three times for a grand total of $47,500 for jacking up Todd Heap, horse-collaring Kevin Jones and pile-driving Trent Edwards.

The hit on Heap was as clean a football play as they get and the hit on Edwards was almost as good.

The Heap and Edwards hit were a thing of beauty. He shouldn't be called dirty for that, when people like Haynesworth are doing much worse, like stomping on a person's head.

one I had thought was a bust three years into his career.

My mantra for him for years was "if his brains only caught up to his body".

The mantra then transferred to Josh McCown, who still owns it.
