I also went with DirecTV over the weekend. It sounds like the same deal I got over the phone. I'm paying $50 a month with the free HDDVR.

Wow. Did you go through Costco or the website?

Website. I called and triple checked that FSN Arizona HD is on their the $49.99 HDDVR tier. I ordered over the phone because I had to be absolutely certain. The website said that it wasn't. I'm having it installed tomorrow in 2 rooms with more coming later probably.

Dish didn't appear to have FSN AZ HD at all.

Would you mind giving me the total breakdown?

Total setup charge: $25 credit authorization, other than that, 0 initially. You have to give them an email address, and sign up for some sort of billpay for automatic payment. The credit check waived all initial fees.

Total monthly charge: $49.99 a month + $5 for additional box.

Number of boxes: HD/DVR combo, Regular

1 HDDVR
1 Regular

It is their Plus HDDVR package

Holy crap. I think I am calling them this week then.

For $50/month, even with the $10 increase in my Internet (presumably), I am still saving at least $20-$30 per month.

Who do you have now Cox?

I looked at bundling since i have phone and internet w/cox. Cox wanted something like 175/month bundled. With DTV and cox phone/internet I'm paying $110 per month.

Plus I didn't have to give up DTV.

Have you tried calling them about the $15 a month internet? Even with the $15 a month service, you can still stream Netflix through your 360.

If you went without the phone You'd be at $ 95 for DTV and Cox highspeed internet. A nice monthy savings.

Plus when you talk to DTV, let them know you are price shopping with Cox. Get them to throw in a month of free service and It drops down to $90 a month for the first year.

My bill is exactly like that, but with Comcast. I think I will look into DTV. Comcast HD sucks.

Dish's TURBO HD program looks very nice.

And cheap.

I didn't like the channels it offered. The Turbo HD benefit is really only for the VOB movies. (Pay Per Vew) You can watch those pay per view movies in 1080p.

I'm not all that interested in the feaure. Some might.

It looks like my setup is installed. They had to disconnect the internet or run a new line for a $60 cost.

So I need to call Cox to come out and transfer out service and rewire my house for cable internet or go with a fiber option.

I want to get the $14.99 internet from Cox. If not, I'll see if fiber is offered in my neighborhood.

So what is your first month's bill? What about after that?

My first bill should be no different than the rest of my bills. Currently $54.99 a month. I need to add the sports tier I believe as well for $8.

Should be this price for 12 months.

So, I tried to record the Suns game and all Suns games on any channel. Is this possible? I couldn't find any matches with the searches. I have an HR22 btw.

The upcoming game on TNT TOMORROW doesn't show up on the guide. It shows a L&O marathon which I know not to be the case. How often does the guide update?

When I had regular TiVo that stuff was up to date continually.

Well, it was on the guide when I looked at it this evening, and it was set to record based on your "Suns" setting.

I'm still getting used to the guide. Must different than the basic guide that we're used to. There wasn't any confirmation when I told it to record everything Suns related..... hmm.
