Have also seen this on a play where the QB threw it out of the end zone and got crushed late. Half the distance and first down. They don’t give the ball to the team committing the penalty and push them back.
It was 4th down. As soon as the ball hit the ground, possession changes regardless of any infraction that occurs after that. It's pretty clear.

I’m not arguing fir or against. I was questioning your not understanding the call I think it was explained pretty well.

I think until the other team is lined up for the snap any dead ball penalty should assessed as if the team prior in possession still had the ball. May cut down on dead ball penalties.
Exactly. Because the explanation is bogus because the QB is protected differently. The second the ball hits the ground it should be play over period. But I think this is correct. You shouldn’t be able to have a penalty on a play with your
Other than 1998 you really didn't miss much.
1984 was fun too. 1987 till we lost Lomax

That Rams/bucs game just adds fuel to the fire everybody train for the cards. The bucs got down 27-3 and stormed all the way back. The cards pretty much couldn’t mount more than a whimper in response. We were the worst of all the teams called “contenders” earlier in the season. By a shot.

4 lost fumbles by LA. They had zero turnovers vs us.

Don't even start with the contender stuff. Look at the talent on LA vs us. Not even close.

Not roughing the passer. The QB throws the ball
To the ground and gets hit. They get a first down if called

Facts. If the Rams fumbled 4 times we might have won. We lost 4 games this year with 2 more turnovers than the other teams.

Lucky. :)

Why did you pick the Cardinals?
I was a mild football fan
Then after i watched Jerry maguire i started to follow a bit the franchise and with the first game of Boldin and the rookie record receiving yards i became more appasionate

As is a pass out of the end zone…Should be the same….My example was fourth down also…

The example would have to be that the roughing the qb came on 4th down AFTER the ball was incomplete. I can't say that I remember seeing that situation but I'll take your word for it if it happens all the time. Do you have such an example?

Was that this season? Which game?
No not this season. Wish I had the game but I have seen it. Are you sure it doesn’t apply differently to a QB in the situation I describe. I want to say Steelers Browns game on the last couple of years but can’t be sure and too lazy to research.

To be honest, I’m now completely bewildered how the Cards swept SF and split the regular season v. LA. Kind of miraculous given how awful they played the final two months. Please MB, for the love of God, see this current regime for what it is: a mirage, incapable of hanging with the big boys of the NFL once the games really begin to matter. If you don’t do something substantive the Cards will never play for a title. Be bold and go get a smart, tough, competent group to run the team, not the clowns who currently oversee things.

Not sure I'd go so far as to call them clowns but pretty much how I feel. I said the same thing to my wife yesterday. How the hell did the Cards beat these teams???

Bills coaches looking like they’re playing “not to lose.” However, KC kicker going to cost them tonight?

It's absolutely possible that the rules have different penalties. The NFL rulebook is wacky.

Bills Chiefs game makes me wish we had a coach....and a defense....and offense...lol
Come on. The whole difference is when a team gets hot. The 49ers have gotten so lucky last 3 games really. Lucky to be in the playoffs. But they are not better than us. If we played them it would be 20-17. All these teams have faults. It’s the lucky breaks that make them winners. Bengals were given gifts. Tampa Rams game was whoever gave the last gift

Okay, that was perhaps a bit harsh of me, but I’m pissed because two of our division rivals will play for the SB next week and we didn’t get a sniff.
