It will be an interesting offseason to say the least.

Been saying for months that both he and Upton can't be on the same team... They simply don't produce consistently enough and don't put the ball in play enough...
Not sure which one will be gone, but one of them needs to go.

I don't see the D'backs giving up on Upton, if they think he can play a full season without shoulder problems.

The D'backs are 6-24 this season in games in which Justin does not start.

If either goes, I believe it will be Reynolds, whose average now stands at .203 after going 0-4 with two strikeouts. I know, Miggy went 0-4 with three strikeouts, but that is certainly not the norm for him.

Mark Reynolds? Day after day, whether he uses his new approach or old approach it is the same. The kid is so confused, he deserves a fresh start somewhere else.

The question is, will the D'backs make that move or are they so enamored with his home run stats -- home runs which seemingly don't make a difference in the outcome of the game?

Unless the new GM sets a goal of manufacturing runs, perhaps there should be a third choice in the vote --

Should Reynolds be traded, but probably won't be.

Time will tell.

Stephen Drew just became the 6th D'back to hit (or rather, not hit) 100 strikeoutsthis season.

Reynolds through #5 are bad enough. But Stephen Drew. Tied, I believe, for the league lead in triples (line drives in the gap), but still with over 100 K's.

Our Batting coach should tender his resignation to Kevin Towers with a rebate of part of his salary. And offer to clean the seats in the stadium after each game next year.

Greg Schulte was giving his usual "Maybe he'll hit a homerun" comment one game (when we obviously needed baserunners to wear down the pitcher) when Tom Candiotti told him he'd rather see a line drive in the gap.

Schulte then took three minutes to contradict himself and explain why it would be better to hit one in the gap.

It looks like Greg has bought into the D'backs front office philosphy of "all or nothing" even though he knows better.

I guarantee that if Kirk Gibson manages the team for a full season we will not see six position players with 100 strikeouts.

Or the announcers being honorary "all or nothing" advocates.

I saw Bob Kemp on Channel 10 Saturday talking D'Backs and he mentioned Towers kept specifically mentioning the strikeouts as alarming and seemed determined to address this. In other words, bye-bye Reynolds. This guy could be the first player in MLB history to have a higher strikeout total than batting average. I mean I would give up playing baseball than be that guy. Oh BTW, I like how Reynolds said he was going to go back to his old approach as if that was the reason for his pathetic numbers, well looks like its working........not.

A far, far too early prediction...We will draft Jackie Bradley, Jr. with one of our picks next year.

Dbacks can probably get Mark Teahan. :)

I think they will target Anthony Rendon in next June's draft, we will be in the Top 3 so we have a shot. He is a bit on the small side 5'10 180, but he will provide serious pop for the hot corner and he won't K 200 times a year while hitting below the Mendoza Line.

Pittsburgh's gonna take him #1 overall and move Alvarez to 1B full time.

I see the Snakes getting either Matt Purke of TCU or Taylor Jungmann of Texas with their first of two picks and Ricky Oropesa of USC with their sandwich pick.

That said, and returning to the topic at hand, I really am on the fence about Reynolds' future in Arizona. I fully expect Towers to at least shop his services in hoping someone capitalizes on his home run power.

So they are now content to fill (potential) holes on their roster with draft picks?

Ugh.

I would sincerely doubt it. Granted, Rendon reminds me a bit of Evan Longoria/ Ryan Zimmerman with more power, and I feel will be a quick riser through the system, however I can't fathom the Snakes would go into the season with a red blood rookie if Reynolds is moved. Besides, I am 100 percent doubtful Rendon will be there when Arizona picks anyhow.

If Reynolds is traded, my speculation is that another 3B will be coming back in the deal, or they may scrape the wire for one.

There's some speculation that before Towers took over, the team was heavily considering offering Reynolds to Oakland for Kevin Kousmanoff and Vin Mazzaro. Don't know if this indicates what they're looking to do, but it gives me full idea that Reynolds is being shopped.
