Apparently the 7th we sent to Minnesota can turn into a 6th.

I wonder if the Vikings called inquiring about Tune - who IIRC had a decent game against Minnesota albeit it was preseason

Not sure why you move him when trying to get KM back in. Leaves us with a kid that hasn’t played a down as our back up.

I apologize @PACardsFan!

You were 100% right.

Wow!
I heard something yesterday that said that these trades are actually made 24 hours in advance. And when JG came out of nowhere 24 hours ago with the news that Murray or Tune would be starting, I just connected the dots. Cardinals really liked Dobbs the person, so they found him another possible starting gig in Minnesota with a team that could make the playoffs. Very classy move by the Cardinals & it obviously helped us too.

What is the man love for Tune? Other than everyone's favorite player being the #2 QB, I just don't get the obsession.
He is over 6 feet tall, and his great great uncle (Jim Lawrence) was the first player ever drafted by the Cardinals franchise. It would be great to see the kid succeed.

He wasn't even that good in preseason. Honestly, I would not be a bit surprised if he is worse than Dobbs at moving the offense.

But, the absence of negative data in regular season can be a reason for blind optimism..

Again - I don't love Tune - never said anything of the sort - there are no posters of him on my wall - I don't have any crazy expectations - I've just always thought if we're going to be losing - we might as well be developing - that simple - the future is Kyler

Yeah, I don’t quite get the fans who have been singing Clayton’s Tune (that one’s for you K9 :) ) since training camp either, but for me, I just need a hit of hopium to keep watching, even if for a week, before Kyler returned.

Dobbs had just become a lead bomb out there.

We were 1-7 with Dobbs. If Kyler is unable to play we likely finish 2-15 anyway.

it makes more sense to start the rookie and get him some experience If Kyler can't play.
And if Tune is not ready you are forced to keep playing him. No need to do this now.

The one thing I am glad about is that they truly moved on. I thought he was here to stay as a backup. Which, I do think is his future in the league for another few years. QBs don't have to show a ton of brilliance to hang around for a long time. Just a few moments of competence works.
