I think he would come back if asked. He loved playing for us. I think it will come down to money though. If another team offers him more then I think he will chase the money.

I don't think another team will pay him more. If he couldn't even make it on a depleted 49ers team, I don't think he gets more. I think players will ask him to come back like Peterson and tyrann mathuie

He can coach from the sidelines. Not sure who I'd cut to get him on the team.

DO NOT BRING HIM IN!

I watched his snaps on the 49ers games. He got zero push. Every play he got stood up during preseason. Zero penetration. He never was able to get leverage. He would be a liability. He is just done, we have more talent here and he would be taking away from that. What ever roster spot we gave up would be a downgrade

If all he wants is the $$ - it is DD after all - his career is over. No way the Cards will offer him the same contract as before after being cut by Santa Clara.

Whose spot is he taking on the line? I'd argue that at his age and current injury status, he'd be less productive than anyone else.

I hope he catches on with somebody but don't think he is needed here.

The Cardinals are already going to have to most likely cut two quality players from the DL. There is no room for Dockett. That cord has been cut and it's time to move on...

Appreciate what DD did for the Cards, my black jersey is a DD jersey. But, he is done and I would not want him to take a roster spot on one of the young guys. Maybe a one day and retire deal but that's all.

Thanks for the memories DD and good luck whatever you end up doing.

This is about winning and not paying tribute to players who act like the teams, it is the business of winning... and for some players like Dockett, winning becomes about making the most money :)

I would bring him back. He had a broken rib, during pre season. He will be a rotation guy, but he would have to be OK with that.

According the the 49ers Jim Tomsula:

"Yeah, it's cartilage," Tomsula said Wednesday, via ESPN.com. "The crack is in the cartilage, which is treated like a contusion. It's not the bone. If it was the bone, we would be talking about something different (and more serious)."

It's still a very painful injury to play with.

Did anyone else watch him a week ago? It was not good. He was totally man-handled by o-lineman and had no push at all. Kinda like 2013 but worse.

If he wanted to hang up his cleats, which I think he should, I would love for him to retire a Cardinal.

One day contract, then he can arm-wrestle Wolf for the color spot.
