virtually every year someone loses a QB for the year before the season even starts to some sort of injury.

Just thinking with the drafting of Rosen it's almost inevitable he beats out Glennon, he might be #2 easily by the time the season starts. I know it's risky with Bradford's injury history to have your backup be a rookie but just wondering if the Cards might just hope at this point someone needs an experienced QB and has some value to trade for him. You're not going to get a really good player obviously but maybe a piece you need.

They will keep Glennon.

when Bradford goes down they need an experienced guy to back up Rosen.

I think Mike Glennon will be our new all purpose backup QB and be here for years just like Drew Stanton

I think he survives as a long term backup by the contract they gave him :)

I get that but Bradford is untradeable because of his injury history so are we just going to keep 3 QB's this season and then let Bradford go?

I've never been a huge fan of Glennon but I think he's a reasonable backup but 4 million a year for a 3rd string QB makes me wonder if we don't now try to move him.

I think it depends on the offer we get for him. They signed Bradford & Glennon in case they weren't able to draft one of the top 4 QBs... now that's changed with Rosen on board. Bradford's a 1 year rental & Glennon finds himself in the same position he was in last year in Chicago (stuck behind a rookie high draft pick) so there's a good chance he'll want to get out of his contract anyways to pursue another chance to start somewhere else so why not try to get a draft pick for him. We can always find another backup QB next year.

Obviously, if Bradford gets hurt then you can't trade Glennon because someone has to backup Rosen.

I wouldn't expect the Cards to rush Rosen out there, not with this Oline. He'll get some playing time, but fans need to have patience for 2018.

Glennon will finish the season here and probably stick around for a few years.

Rosen takes over a few games in like they did with Deshaun Watson. Bradford is released after the season and Glennon is the backup. His cap hit is 4m in 2019. He’s the perfect backup that won’t stick is neck out to be a problem or complain about playing time.

His neck naturally sticks out.

The one position where an injury can wreck a season is QB.

I'd be OK with carrying 3 QB's on the active roster and deactivating one on game day. Whether #3 is Glennon or someone else depends on who competes best for the job.

If cut, Glennon would negatively impact the cap. Even next year, if cut, he only saves $1 mil of cap space on a projected cap space near $100 mil.

I personally would rather have Rosen as QB3 this season to watch.

pretty sure Rosen will either be 1 or 3, never 2... likely gameday inactive until he is the starter

Yep thats how I see this playing out as well. I could also see them taking a Mid Round QB in the next year or two as well to develop as a long term backup.

Well, I know it's far from set in stone if we keep three or two QBs on the roster. The last few years the MAJORITY of teams have carried TWO with a guy on the practice squad. Which, if you get down to your 3rd QB, your season is toast anyhow.

If Glennon plays well in camp, he will probably stay. If he plays as bad as I think he will, he will be cut at that salary.

Bradford's game is closer to Rosen's. I can see them keeping Bradford as a back up after this year. Glennon's game would be a different I would assume. Not sure how Kanoff's game matches up or even if he's practice squad material.

With Bradford’s injury history, you almost HAVE to keep 3 QBs on the roster. Glennon is a fine backup option at the moment.

Almost every expert says he is the most NFL ready QB and it’s not even close. His own coach says that mentally he is ready for the NFL game day one. He can learn from #2 if Bradford goes down there is no reason at all in today’s NFL to suffer through Glennon.
