I honestly have no idea. What I do know and would be willing to bank on is that come Monday morning there will be some serious overreactions no matter what.

I voted very well and we get the win.....

I am an optimist you have to be as a cardinals fan.

Heres hoping Josh kicks some ass....don't think Carolina's secondary is all that good.

Didn't see an option that fit. My prediction would be about 250 yards, 1 TD, and a turnover. As far as the win is concerned, Carolina has to be the favorite here, but the game is at home. Hopefully the win last week will be a motivator.

I would say Josh already had his breakout game...

...the question that remains is consistancy.

I would love to see this guy make it big time, however, I would not put any money on it. In the second half of the Mexico game he actually started looking at more than one receiver and seemed comfortable. If he can continue with this he has a chance. Up until that game I think Josh has sucked. He has at least a couple of more games to prove himself unless he looks really bad this week. If he has a real bad game against Carolina I think we will see Warner back. I just want a win and do not care who gets it at QB.

I think Josh does good and pulls a win out of his rear when nobodys looking. :D

I hope I am not looking if that happens. Is that even legal.

Well it's interesting because no matter what, he now knows his career could ride on this game.

Therefore it is by definition a pressure game against a reasonably solid team.

It should answer a few questions one way or another.

I voted not sure because so much depends on the game plan and if the Cards can keep Peppers from killing our QB.

IMO McCown's problem passing is that he has no touch. This is why he throws air balls on the deep sideline passes but looks much better throwing bb's down the middle of the field. If the Cards adjust as they did in Mexico and run routes to the middle of the field where McCown can just throw the ball without having to loft it over a defender they'll do fine. He definitely has the arm for that. And it doesn't matter how hard he throws it our two main guys can catch just about anything.

But to do this the Cards Oline has to be able to keep the Defense out of his face and be able to open passing lanes. The latter is not as important as Josh can create lanes with his mobility.

As for the former, with Wakefield at RTackle and Peppers at LDE the Cardinals may be smart to have an extra EMS tech or two on the sidelines Sunday.

Carolina's Defense is not like the 49ers. They are actually good. Josh will have to find the open WR this time and won't be able to stare down his WRs. This will be the ultimate test for Josh and this offense. Was the 49er game a mirage? We shall see.

If Josh sucks and our offense can't move the ball. Then look for our defense to start to lose ground in the second half. We need to keep or defense off the field or Stephan Davis and DeShawn Foster will eat us alive in the second half.

I'm more concerned about the offensive line than I am about Josh. If the line plays okay, Josh I think will play okay (not great, but okay).

I agree. The Panthers DL...even minus Jenkins...is much better than SF's and this could be the deciding point. Davis and Foster are going to get their yards since I don't see the Cards run D having improved all too much so it will fall on the cards OL and JOsh's arm to keep it close and not let the game turn into a blowout.

McCown finished last year 6-7 as a starter despite being benched at midyear. It didn't help his confidence when Green went after the 34-year-old Warner in the offseason and anointed him the starter. ``He jokes and says, 'You're not going to let me back on the field, are you?' and we joke back and forth about that,'' McCown said. ``My goal is not to let him back on the field. But ultimately, in all honesty, my goal is that if he gets back on the field, he's in a position to take us to the playoffs.''

A lot will depend if we are able to start to generate a pass rush. I'll be diplomatic and say for whatever reason **cough** Soft zone with a 4 man rush, blitzing on predictible downs**cough, cough** we've been unable to generate a good pass rush against even the most patchwork of O-lines.

Also, Carolina's D has never done all that well against a mobile QB's. I think y'all's lack of a running game will help our performance, but I'm scared to death of Fitzgerald and Boldin, especially up the middle, one of our current biggest areas of weakness.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't see a true deep threat in your receiver corps.

But that was sort of a unique situation because the FS Adams was so overreacting to fakes and clearouts. Most NFL Safeties are not going to leave the middle that open all game.

But hopefully Josh learned the value of looking off the safety and will continue to do it.

Bryant Johnson is SUPPOSED to be that guy but so far all he does is drop passes.

That's the key to this whole offense other than the OL, if we can get any consistent production, preferably deep, from our #3 WR look out.

The middle of the field doesn't have to be open with our guys. Josh just needs to wing it and Fitz and Q will catch it.

What?
I'm going with very well.

The first reason is I think the o-line has picked up an attitude and will keep people off of him.

The second is the WR's were on the receiving end of 385 yards of offense and will be more comfortable.

Third, Josh has had a confidence boost.

Now all of this is still on shakey ground but I think it can come together.
