I wonder what the consensus is, try to be objective and put down the cool aid, I think with a new offense being installed and a new o-line to contend with there is a better than average chance that matt may struggle a bit, especially the first half of the season,

from what I understand matt is a very intelligent young man so I believe he'll catch on quick,
I just think that a winning streak right out of the gate under these circumstance's may be a bit unrealistic,

what do you think?

I think he will continue to improve. He looked great his first couple of starts, then went into a funk (either because of himself or because defenses adjusted), then once again looked great until he got hurt in the niners game. I think he will continue to show improvement now that he has plenty more opportunity to build timing and chemistry with Fitty and the Quan. Plus if the running game gets going that can only help.

I doubt it, if they haven't learned the correct spelling in over a year....they're not going to. As long as the FO spell it correctly on his big, fat paycheck, don't think he will care very much. :D

He can't catch a break...they even mispronounced it when he was awarded the Heisman.

Poor Matt, no one spells his name properly (I even got it wrong at one point).

If the running game improves, he will be MUCH better. Even without that, I think he'll show some improvement. He's a bright, talented QB with the ability to digest a playbook pretty quickly.

If "Big Ben" can win a Super Bowl in the system than "Hollywood" can win 3.

I tossed the iron glove Leinart, pick it up!

Lenart is ten times the QB Ben Cycleburger is. Linestart will have a Grrrreat year in 2007. Lennyheart is the best damn QB we've ever had and we are lucky to have him...pure winner. He is worth a victory or two himself.

And last season, Linencart had us in position to win/tie at least three games when our kicker, Slackers, couldn't deliver the goods.

I see big things on the horizon for Lerizonhart.

Yes, we are lucky to have Lebronheart on our team. GO CARDS!

Line Art?

On paper he should improve than for no other reason than (a) he should have more time to throw behind an improved offensive line and (b) Fitz and Q will be one year more experienced.

Add to this, a full off-season of taking starter-reps and assimilating the system and things look rosy.

On paper.

Beware the injury gods. Beware the amount of film other teams now have on him. Beware.

IMO, it's nice that we finally don't have to worry too much about the starting QB. Lienart will be fine--sure, he'll have a few hiccups here and there as any young QB will, but he'll be fine.

That is one huge assumption. One, however, that most people are making. And one we have to make to have any hope at all for 2007.

But when I take off the Cardinal colored glasses I just don't see it happening until at least midway through the season.

I'm not sure. Depends on his ability to avoid further injury.

That's my guess too.

I have no reason to believe he will regress. He performed very well despite the merry-go-round of OCs last year. Now with a more QB-friendly system that Whiz is bringing over and a larger priority on emphasizing the run, he should be able to prove that he's the best QB from 2005.
