Skkorp, If you do this without me I would be SOOOO mad at you.

I would body paint myself in the Cardinals colors head to toe (JUST the paint) and engauge in the urination of that stupid monument. I guess I should put KISS THIS across my arse to bring the whole thing together.

I hate Pottsville, I think there "curse" is BS, and they are a bunch of whiny bastards. Plus the Cardinals never officially accepted the Championship. That is part of the story, so it was never the Cardinals fault. Just BS myths past down by the drunken natives. Plus they always seem to forget the Maroons broke a contract with the league by playing a game outside of the league, thus their suspension and loss of title. They f'd up and know they think time will let everyone forget about it.

I don't care who is right or wrong. I am a Cardinals fan, so they are right by default.

The trophey was awarded to us. Thus we are the champions. They can take their "curse" and shove it, and then plug it with a Yuengling bottle.

As for :Afterward, Rendell called the owners "cowardly barons." Added Rooney: "What's been done to this town and this team. . . it needs to be fixed." Well, why don't they try to come and get it! We can hang them from the rafters on the new stadium.
:yeahthat:

Vegas, baby, yeah!
Thanks for that, Curse has been lifted!

OK - I'm going "Darksider" here for a bit.

Here's the part that was left out - and this bit is very important:

The reason that the NFL gave the championship to the Cardinals was because the Frankford Yellow Jackets lost the game to Pottsville, which gave Pottsville the right to play Notre Dame. Frankford then went out the next day after the loss to Pottsville and scheduled a home game at the same time in the same city as the Pottsville - Notre Dame game.

Per league rules - Pottsville had to forefit the game against Notre Dame, as two pro team could not play two different games in the same city at the same time. Pottsville refused, and played anyway - they had won the right, and Frankford rained on Pottsville's parade by getting the championship taken away from them and awarded to the Chicago Cardinals.

So what? you say. What's that got to do with it? you say.

The Frankford Yellow Jackets, in 1933, were reorganized into:

The Philadelphia Eagles

These idiots started it - and now we have a golden oppertunity to avenge Pottsville in our first NFC Championship game!

We defeat Philly, and give back the 1925 Championship trophy, and I think this curse is over - but make no mistake - I see the hands of the Football Gods aligning the stars for the Cards to allow us to do the right thing.

JMHO.

I volunteer myself and my family, as well as my Dad and my brother to make the trip to Pottsville the week before the Super Bowl. Let's do this Dave.

I hate to tell you guys this, but the curse isn't over yet. You might look at the win over the Eagles as the vindication, but remember, the curse has had it in for the Eagles as the team that started the whole thing to begin with. Now, you face the Steelers. The only team to support Pottsville since this started. The Rooneys voted twice to reopen the case. You guys are doomed :p!

Well this will be it then. The battle for the 1925 Championship will take place some 82 years later facing the team that won it against the only team that has supported the Maroons for all these years. Its only fitting we have to go through both PA teams to get this long awaited title.

Now is our time. The visit to Pottsville at the beginning of the year started this and now its time for the Cardinals to finish it. We will flip the curse back on to Pittsburgh with this epic title win!

REVERSE THE CURSE!!!!

Agreed - we defeated the Iggles, and now the right thing to do is before the Super Bowl, for the Bidwills to give the trophy back. The formal official recognition can come later (the Owners voting for it). But the trophy should be sitting in the Mayor's office before the Super Bowl.

Besides, you think that a team we used to be one with (Card-Pitt in the '44 season - commonly called "The Carpets" because it was a disaster of a season) would support us - but oh well.

Pottsville (and the Steelers) are doomed. The curse is crumbling.

I drank more than my share of Yuengling to make this happen.

You know, a single NFL championship would bring the Cardinals into a tie with Baltimore/Cleveland as well as St. Louis/Los Angeles/Cleveland. I say this is the year. Won't everyone be surprised when the Cardinals win the Super Bowl!
Reading back on this thread, I just wanted to remember this line. Yes, I know I say that every year, but a broken clock...

As to a curse, remembering to place a curse 38 years after the alleged infraction is just plain stupid to consider. We already got one 22 years after the fact, we're just getting another one next week. This is the year! This is the year!

Per capita, Pittsburgh drinks more beer than any city in the United States outside of GreenBay and Cleveland. On Forbes List of Drunken Cities Pittsburgh came in 8th. Phoenix didn't even make the top 20 that I could tell.

In this great city of heavy drinking, where everybody is a Steeler fan, what is the number one beer of choice? Budweiser? Miller? Coors? Nope. Yuengling is the best selling brand of beer. Most bars change their kegs2-3 times a night. If this comes down to how much Yuengling is drank, again, you guys are screwed. :)

I hate to tell you this but the brewery that produces that beer is probably the dirtiest, most low rent, brewery that you could ever imagine. I was with my inlaws and joking as we took the tour - "Can you imagine that if the Budweiser brewery looked like this?"

I was pretty taken aback as it seemed like people could just put there hands in the vats or worse even spit in them.

I was unimpressed and pretty turned off.

So keep drinking that stuff Steeler Nation. That curse and all that agony that has come with it is getting drowned out come Feb 1st and it's Arizonas and the Cardinals turn to vanquish those demons. No matter our Yuengling support or not!

Now somebody get me a mug of Kilt Lifter!!!
