Here's a great interview by Whedon about Dollhouse. It doesn't sound like Summer Glau is in the works at all, and Amy Acker and Alan Tudyk have other projects going on. The latter sucks, because they may be severely limited. Argh!

This has nothing to do with Dollhouse but did I read correctly in that article that Alan Tudyk going to start acting in a series called "V". As in Aliens acting like our friends but really want to take over earth and take all of our resources 1980's mini series and TV show goodness. Awesome.

Just read another interview where he talks about Summer and the fact that she is tired of playing similar type parts. She want's to play a more normal character. So, Joss said that he would not want to bring her in as a Doll but would love to have her in Dollhouse. Something tells me it might not be in the works but the wheels are turning in his head on how to do it.

I was kind of iffy through the run of this show, but the last two episodes of the season kicked the show into high gear!

It's no "Firefly", but I can't wait for next season. Joss Whedon is a master of continuity with his series'.

According to Fox, Summer Glau ("Firefly," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") reunites with Joss Whedon when the actress joins the cast of "Dollhouse" this fall in a recurring role as Bennett, a Dollhouse employee who shares a past with Echo (Eliza Dushku).

The second season of "Dollhouse" premieres Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox.

Don't forget Alexis Denisof (Wesley on "Buffy" and "Angel") playing Daniel Perrin, a U.S. Senator leading a witch hunt to track down the Dollhouse, Jamie Bamber (Apollo from Battlestar Galactica) who plays a mysterious businessman and Echo's new husband, Martin Klar, and Michael Hoga (Colonel Saul Tigh from Battlestar Galactica) will play Bradley Karrens, who comes to the Dollhouse hoping to stop a psychotic family member's killing spree. Could that be Alpha? If that yes or no I bet we will see Alan Tudyk (Wash from Firefly) again reprising that role.

Fox just cancelled the show. Remaining seven episodes will air starting December 4th.

Yep, it's been all over the entertainment sites. Not that I am surprised but they have some new characters coming into the show that could have done it a world of good like Summer Glau.

I guess on the good side, Joss Whedon has already had a new project in development that he will be announcing by the time the last DH episode airs. In addition, he did say he will have enough time to give the show an ending.

And Fox absolutely destroys another great Joss Whedon show. God, but how stupid can a network be? But, but, but, it didn't do well in a FRIDAY TEN PM TIME SLOT!!! Well, DUH!!!!

And let's hope he's learned his lesson and doesn't go to Fox. They've screwed him twice already.

The writing was on the wall, so it's not surprising that Fox cancelled it. You'd think they would wait and see what difference Summer Glau's appearance makes, if any. Although on a Friday at 9pm, it probably wasn't going to help all that much.

I hope so. He could easily find the audience and ratings he needs on one of the other other networks like the WB. Enough with FOX already.

At least he has time to give it a semi proper ending. Thats more then can be said for a lot of other shows.

Knew it was coming when they moved it to Friday. Its the death slot. Has anything ever worked in that time slot besides the old TGIF in the 80's.

This thread died!? No posts about the second season? The epilogues?

Just watched the end of season 1 on Netflix, and epilogue 1, wondered if Epilogue 1 really aired after season one, or the two at the end and NUTHIN here?

I love this show...always love Dushku, but the show is phenomenal.

IIRC, they didn't air in the US at the time. I loved the epilogue episode even more than the show itself.

I am kind of bewildered at the epilogue1 coming before season 2. It feels like a spoiler, but it sounds like that's when Joss wanted it to air, so in Joss I trust.

I don't remember the exact politics of it but IIRC the epilogue was sort of forced on them by Fox. Or the opposite, Fox didn't want them to make it but it was Whedon's response to the possibility that Fox wouldn't give them another season. I think they mentioned somewhere in/on the DVD collection that it aired overseas but Fox refused it in the US. Which I think they also did with the original pilot.

I've watched so many TV shows since then that it's hard to keep them all straight but for some reason, this particular episode stands in my mind. They were forced to do it with almost no budget but it didn't detract at all IMO. I've always wanted to see the series that this episode hinted at, it's right up there with Veronica Mars joining the FBI for me.

Just about finished with the series...two eps left.

Season two is AWESOME and weird. But mostly awesome.

The episode where Topher imprinted Victor with himself, and the Topher with Victopher conversations were epic.
