He played in a 3-4 scheme at Oregon they moved him all over he played at least one every single position on defense. This guy was an OLB and the dolphins tried to make him a 4-3 defensive end. Hell Dion Jordan played safety a hell of allot his last season at Oregon and yes he covers tight ends very well.

When he was asked to rush the passer in college he did it very well

Thanks. Since many posters want us to take a Safety in the 1st or 2nd rd then giving up a 2nd or 3rd rd pick for a player who can fill that need of covering TE's and possible provide a pass rush would be a no brainer.

As I said, I knew they used him more in coverage but I wonder why? Pass rushers wreck passing teams gameplans & if he was so great at that why wasn't he used as one in the Ducks 3-4 scheme? Hmmm :D Seattles DB's are great but they romped the best offense in NFL history because they hit Manning over & over! It would be like asking Von Miller to cover 50% of the time! which is ludicrous.

IMO the #1 skillset a 3-4 OLB better have is sacks, pressures & QB hits. Why are the Fins shopping him again?

Oregon doesn't really play a really aggressive defense. You would think all the great athletes they attract they would turn out some crazy defensive players but they don't. They seemed to use him as that game needed. Like I said I have never seen a player on defense just line up everywhere like he did. Fact is he a crazy athlete.

Why do the dolphins do anything? It's a mess down there. I see this 6'5 lanky kid great athlete why the hell would you draft him and try and make him play a 4-3 defensive end that's just stupid. But the dolphins don't do to many smart things.

Could Von Miller play 4-3 defensive end? Seattle didn't beat Denver because they hit Manning I think they only sacked him once or twice what they did do great is make him uncomfortable, shut down that run game and pretty much allow zero yard s after the catch.

If Philly doesn't make a trade offer for Jordan , I will see that as a red flag . Who knows Jordan better than the Philly HC ?

Ask Harbaugh what he thinks about Richard Sherman

This is a team that was on the rise and was poised to be a playoff team and take over their division in the future. Should be a case study at MBA programs on how to destroy a business in one year

Dion Jordan is very talented. The question is, will he become a DeMarcus Ware or an Aaron Curry? I would take a chance on him. I don't think anyone thought of him as a 4-3 DE and he was miscast in that role. On the other hand, if a player is good, they usually find a way to make it on the field at some point and produce. He fits the long, athletic body type Keim says he's looking for. I don't think Miami would take it, but I'd offer a 3rd round or lower pick for him. If I had to give a #2, it would be a future #2.

Wake doesn't fit our scheme but he's an absolute monster. Big fan of his.

No interest in Mike Wallace. He is a head case, a slacker (what did he do after getting big money ? anything ?), and simply not that good.

Dion Jordan........ What the heck are the Dolphins doing ? No way do we trade anything for Dion Jordan. If after one year they are ready to unload him then just wait till he is released. If another team trades for him ? Have fun with that. THey traded up to get this player, now a year later, they want him gone, it smells like David Boston's training camp dorm room.....full of shame and bad decisions. I dunno, just speculating but this simply does not happen in the NFL for no reason.

Cameron Wake ? Seriously? I dunno, this all seems crazy. Heck yeah, I would call the Dolphins about Cameron Wake. Guy is a great pass rusher. Not saying the Cardinals could afford to get Wake, but that is a great opportunity.

Dolphins saying this is completely false.

That would make more sense than any of this.

If we can get Wallace for a lesser pick and get him to redo his contract? Of course. Remember who got him to play so well.

For a guy who said he wanted to get paid like Fitz and Megatron a couple of seasons ago, you're not going to convince Wallace to take a pay cut. He'd play for Cleveland if it meant making an extra dollar.

Hey TJ---no one is going to take on Wallace's $15M base salary this year if they trade for him. The trade would be contingent on him re-doing his deal with the new team.

If you read what Wallace says here---there's a decent chance he would want to play for the coach who brought the best out in his game and be on a team that has a shot at competing for the Lombardi Trophy. Check this out:

Wallace with BA:

3 seasons: 171/3,206/18.7/24-tds

Wallace w/o BA

2 seasons: 137/1,766/12.9/13-tds

Look at the yards and the yards per catch.

If he's sincere, that's one thing. However, to play on this team at that position, he'd have to take a substantial pay cut seeing as Fitz is making bukou money and Floyd is on the 3rd year of his 1st round rookie deal. The speedster-type WR we'll get this offseason will probably be a 3rd day rookie making chump change. Additionally, what asset(s) would we have to part with to get him?

As we've learned in years past, the Cards can't sink large amounts of money at wideout without causing a problem (see Boldin).

It's fun to dream about the possibility, but I'd put money on both Albert and Dansby signing with us rather than acquiring Wallace.

Teams don't get rid of top 5 picks in year 2 unless there's a problem with him, regardless of how well/doesn't fit their scheme! As you said I wouldn't trade the Fins anything for him!

Well there also trying to get rid of there best defensive player, there big free agent signing from last season also. I think this is a clean house type deal.

People are crazy to not want to take a chance on Jordan there have been no rumors about him being a bad apple he had surgery to start the season on his shoulder not like he blew a knee out. I see complete function over there. There have been plenty of examples named in this thread where a guy didn't work out for the team that drafted him.

Cardinal fans should know better than to write a guy of. System and the team do play a part in a players success. The cardinals tried stubbornly to play Leonard Davis at tackle for years he goes to the cowboys they put him at guard and he dominates making multiple pro bowls, Thomas Jones was horrible here goes to Chicago and he's a 1000 yard back and a work horse

Your not going to find a better prospect if your the cardinals.

Don't know the timeline on that claim but they have sucked for a long time. Whatever chance they may have had was destroyed by Parcells.

One of my favorite hobbies is watching you bang on your local team. The worst the Dolphins have been in in the last five years has been slightly below-average. They play in a division with two consistent playoff teams, one of which is a dynasty, and they just answered their quarterback question two years ago.

Philbin is all of one game below .500 as a head coach.
