When was the last time we completely dominated a team? When was the last time we beat a team without having to make a defensive stop or make something crazy happen to win a game? I want to see some games this year that we win by 14 points or just go into the last minutes of the game not worrying about trying to win. Last year we beat the Broncos pretty badly but that was a meltdown on their part, so I don't really count that.

I've thought this too over the years. It would be nice to just sit back and enjoy some beat downs more often.

The main reason you don't see them on a more regular basis though (IMHO) is the O-line. The Cards can put up some gaudy numbers right out of the gates but then they can't ever take their foot off the gas and just go into control/drain the clock mode because that requires an O-line that can consistently run block.

One could argue that the Cards have had some decent O-lines during the 80's, 90's, and 2000's. You have to go back to the early 70's however to find a truly good/great O-line. Of course then they were known as the cardiac Cards due to many nail biting finishes usually caused by their shoddy defense.

Oh well, I guess being a Cards fan is just heartbreaking any way you look at it.;)

It's not going to happen this year.

It's early, but I'm getting to the point that I don't think our defense can be fixed in one offseason.

Every team that plays us knows that no matter what happens, they can always get back into the game.

Go Cards!!!

I have to agree with this. We are not going to blow anyone out this season.

I think we need a few more drafts and free agents to fix this team. We can make some bandaid fixes like bench our starting OLBs sign a vet DB CB or SS, move Levi to RT and start our backup LT.

I agree with the o line comment. But I do believe our o line seems to be built more for the run which is why I don't understand why we don't run the ball much. Running the ball a bit more I think would improve our team.

We don't dominate teams a lot because we aren't dominant.

To be fair the last few years we have in fact dominated a few teams which is a vast improvement over the past years but even so in those years we ourselves were dominated in more than a few games that same year.

It's a point I've made for years, good teams start to regularly dominate weak teams and we have never been that team.

We are at best inconsistent in this during the rare years we do it at all.

Which just points to how inferior in general we have been over the long haul.

Good point. 2009 is about the only time I can remember that the Cards did not lose a single game to a team that didn't have a winning record at the end of the season.

It is of course that the Cards have almost never played tough defense. Even in 2009 the Cards were having to hold on to win after getting up 21-0. 31-10. 17-3. And that team had some real defensive talent lacking only a legit NT.

Haggans,Okeafor,Dockett,Campbell,Berry,Hayes,Dansby,DRC,McFadden,Rolle and Wilson. Oh and Robinson.
