This team beat the 9ers twice last year and split with the Rams. We were the best team in football prior to losing DHop, Watt and Hudson. We will now have Ertz for an entire season. I don’t like losing Edmonds but it was inevitable. People are acting like we were 3-14 last year. This team will still be in the hunt for the division and playoffs.

Absolutely!

Yeah, that's the problem. He can't win, as evidenced by our one playoff victory during his tenure.

Makes it hard to believe that he is outsmarting all of the other GMs all of a sudden.
And with that single playoff win earned a FIFTEEN YEAR campaign as GM of the cardinals. FIFTEEN YEARS.

I think if Lance plays a long stretch of next season, they will struggle.
Well he clearly hasn’t t proven Jack squat. People use a lack of college snaps as an excuse for Kyler sucking still to this day heading into year 4. Now the same people still consider the 49ers a favorite with Lance as a starter? Hmmm

I have a hard time taking you serious when you say this. Especially with your outright open criticism of Kyler regularly during the season. I don’t have the sense that you actually believe he’s “the guy“ capable and ready to get us to a SB anyway. Even with higher quality talent.
Even if you, as a poster, don’t believe kyler is the guy clearly the cardinals did. And if that’s the case they should’ve been truly doing everything they could to go all in during this span, and they didn’t. So it’s kinda immaterial what an individual poster thinks about kyler. What matters is what the cardinals thought and failed to do while thinking that.

I can’t even comment on this thread. Maybe Keim is smarter than we think. Maybe he realizes we have way too many holes to fill so why look at high priced free agents?
Maybe he believes that he can draft competitive replacements for Jones, Kirk, Edmonds and Green although Green imho will be returning.
Maybe….ah, forget it.

Keim has never had any problems mortgaging the future for reckless free agent contracts before. Why the change of heart now?

And waiting for guys to fall through the cracks is exactly why some here are unhappy. While the contenders are engaged in an arms race, we are waiting to shop at the dollar store, aside from giving big money to a 27-year-old running back and a soon to be 32-year-old tight end.
Yeah, the freaking Rod Graves approach is galling.

"Your daily dose of cognitive dissonance" could be the tag line of this board.

Kyler sucks,. He's not the guy in one thread. We're wasting his rookie deal on another.

We need to play our rookies and not sign overpriced vets one year. We can't rely on rookies we need to sign over priced vets the next.

We sucked down the stretch because Kyler was bad one week. We sucked down the stretch because of bad roster construction the following week.

Why did we sign a 31 year old guy that hasn't been good for 2 years? Then "Why didn't we sign the 31 year old that hasn't been good for 2 years that they signed?"

Kyler sucks because he barely played in college but Niners will be challengers with a QB drafted with the least college starts ever who barely played his rookie season.

There are several solid if not spectacular Edges still available. Likely the Cards sign one since the top draftees figure to be gone by 23. A few are Smith, Ingram, Houston, Hughes and Key. A couple of these guys finished last year very strong. The Cards will likely still draft a second tier Edge and develop him. Any of these guys could set a good example.

Develop them?? Like they've developed Simmons and Collins? I'm not seeing that working out.

DT, OG, WR2 & Edge. That to me seems like all we need to be playoff caliber again. Just don't know if there are starting caliber guys left out there at these 4 positions.

Oh, is that all? lol Yeah, it seems a tough row to hoe. And filling all those positions will barely get us back to the status quo of last season. Last season's status quo wasn't good enough.

Even with Lance? I don't see it
Maybe. Garappolo was no great shakes, and he’s still on the roster. As I said, nothing has changed since the end of last season.

Any other assertion is only backed by your hopes.

It's not really hopes. We beat them twice. Finished above them in the division. They are planning to start a QB with 318 college pass attempts, 71 NFL attempts and a 5/2 ratio.

It’s amazing that a collection of individuals might different thoughts, right?
