Because nobody in their right mind would make AD their prime target.
That is just total BULLCRAP.
He has what - at best 2 good years left?
you got it right, Prox. It amazes me to hear naive and gullible justifications in line with the official spin -- especially in the current environment of rampant deception. But i don't believe it's a conspiracy. Here's my breakdown:
Q: why didn't Luka know?
A: oh, he knew. He obviously demanded a trade specifically targeting the Hollywood lights for him and his bride. He's a master manipulator on the court too. He worked the refs and Booker's head in our playoff series until we melted like butter in the end.
Q: but they could have just screwed up. Cuban isn't a majority owner any more.
A: Cuban would work the angles even if he only had $1 invested. And the Dallas suits are said to be pals with the LA suits.
Q: but Cuban screwed up with Nash too.
A: he just played hard-ball with Nash and lost. But Nash at that time was NO Luka, who, imo, is only 2nd to Nokic in value to any team. Moreover, Cuban is better known for spending on talent, despite the risks, (Kyrie, for one). And it was Cuban that sharked away Luka to begin with (he was speculated to be a big fat risk then too).
Q: but why gamble on Luka's will to stay in condition?
A: are you really going to bet on someone with his ego and drive letting McD's block his path to glory. He's more likely to figure out, Like Mike! how to take full advantage of his passing skills.
Q: didn't Dallas benefit from keeping it quiet?
A: No! They'd benefit greatly from a bidding war -- UNLESS Luka threatened he'd make it public he wouldn't resign and he'd only go to LA. For effect, he could even throw in a threat to play in Europe.
Q: but A.Davis is a great value in return
A: please
