thats awesome

in that spirit: the Eagles D weakness is against the run -- like bottom 5 or so - and I like that matchup against a Cardinal run game that seems to be rounding into form.

http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst..._YARDS_PER_GAME_AVG&d-447263-o=1&d-447263-n=1
Rank: 28

Rush Yards/Game: 136.1
Average Rush: 4.4 yds

Between that and Chip's hurry-up Offense philosophy, there is an opportunity to keep their D on the field for a long time and grind them down.

(They are 8th against the pass, though)

I think this board needs an attitude adjustment. The Cards are a damn good, top level team and we should start acting like it. For weeks I've read a lot of angst and worry about our opponents(the Rams, c'mon). The Cards play their game and they'll handle Philly. Now, I'm even reading about fearing Seattle in the playoffs.

Those teams should fear the Cardinals and we should act like we're fans of one of the best, if not the best, teams in the league. Do you really think Patriots fans would be worrying about going into a game at Philly? It would be like, another week, another win. The only question is by how much.

Sure, the Cards could lose. It's the NFL and any team can win. But the Cards are 11-2 this year and 20-3 the last 2 years with Carson Palmer's under center. Let's start acting like it. Us fans need some of the BA swagger. Go into Philly, take care of business, and lock down the #2 seed and see you in January.

This, plus:

Sal Pal: Eagles Have Game Circled

Here is the article I was referencing earlier:

http://arizonasports.com/story/3461...o-eagles-have-game-against-cardinals-circled/

ESPN NFL insider Sal Paolantonio, who used to cover the Eagles and has a weekly radio show in the Philadelphia area, was on the Bickley & Marotta show of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Tuesday and noted a game the Eagles are looking forward to.

“I know one game they have circled on their calendar and that’s the Arizona Cardinals,” he said. “They want to get that win against the Cardinals after losing the way they lost last year when Nate Allen got burned. When the Cardinals came into Philly (in 2013) they got robbed that game if you remember. That has developed into quite a little rivalry.”

i don't think the game will be a cakewalk at all... the Eagles are playing for their playoff lives, it's on the road and conditions will be cold. That said, unless we lay an egg, we should come out with a W and I'll be pretty pissed if we don't.

Weather and refs are the 2 things that most concern me. Not because I think the league is out to screw us, but because the Eagles have the Redskins and Giants left on their schedule, and the East gets the ratings.

While it will be nice to wrap up the NFC West with a win in Philly, we can still lose it and be able to get both the NFC West and the bye with a win against Green Bay at home the next week. If we can't beat Green Bay at home then we may as well write off the season because we would then probably have to go to Green Bay and win there just to make the NFC Championship Game. The game against Green Bay is the key game remaining in the regular season.

I expect the game to be a tough fight but the Cardinals should be well rested and relatively healthy. It also isn't debatable as to who has more talent overall or who is better coached.

The road game on the east coast in December usually is a recipe for disaster but it has been a mild winter so far...not terrible conditions for sure--40's to mid 30's in the forecast, no snow, no ice, no frozen ground...no excuses.

Developing? Sal Pal, they used to play each other twice a year since forever and even met in the NFL Championship one year(2 if you count the NFC championship). When the Cards were in the NFC East, their battles with the Eagles used to be brutal so the rivalry is still there. As for the game in 2013, the officiating was so bad that the Philadelphia Daily News wrote an article on how bad it was.

If I am Betcher, I would be coaching my guys to stay at home and look for quick screens to Matthews and Sproles. I also would keep Minter on the sideline cause he can't cover anyone!

Can't sleep on an away game. Especially against a team fighting for a playoff spot. That said, if we can limit our TO differential to -1, we should win.

I'm with PA CardFan...

The Bills (coaches, fans, etc.) are screaming about the "hosing" they got this past Sunday. To say there isn't a "hidden agenda" come Sunday is simply being naive. ...And after 48+ years of watching I can say that without any sense of uncertainty...

What we do have going for us to counter that is a very exciting team, a charismatic coach, marquee/likable players, and a steadily-growing popularity in NFL circles.

This is a GREAT time to be a Cardinals fan! :)

Mark in SC :)

Okay...Back to BASK-ing! :D

Actually, two NFL Championships AND an NFC Championship. (1947 Cardinals won, 1948 Eagles won, and of course, 2008 Cardinals won!)

Not sure why. I would think the opposite is true. The last time we played in Philly, the officiating was downright atrocious. I was there with friends of mine who are diehard Eagle fans. They giggled under their breath the whole game. Seeing that that loss to the Eagles kept us out of the playoffs, I would think the Cardinals have also circled that game. Philly will be dangerous because the officials will keep them in the game. Take it to the bank.

Flat ass cheating is a better description. I have not forgotten this, I want revenge.

The Eagles have more to play for and I think they'll win. If that happens this board will jump off a cliff and the media will bail on the Cards. They'll be dropped to 8th or so in the media polls. Cards will come home and beat the Pack to lock up the #2 seed.

They'll half ass Seattle to avoid injuries and everyone will say Seattle is the team to beat. Mean while the Cards will go about their business, get a few breaks and play in the SB.

The Cardinals are going all out in this game if people have learned anything at all about Coach Arians and this team is not going to take a team lightly that stands between them and accomplishing the goal of winning the division. The Eagles will be fighting for their slim playoff hopes or rather what the East has to give to anyone who actually wants the division. The Cardinals are the better team and if the Eagles win it is an upset... I say the Cardinals win :)

If we beat Philly and Seattle we still get a bye and there is no assurance the Pack win out either. The Beagles must win games are vs Washington and NYG. they are not done even with a loss. GBR!

They key is to pressure Bradford but we've been hit or miss on this. You aren't going to sack him much because the way Kelly's offense is run he doesn't hang onto the ball that much. Their receivers aren't great but you can't let them get behind you. That's what beat the Bills.

I think a lot of people are overlooking just how big this mini bye week is for the team. They will come in against Philly well rested and ready to go. Not saying that it means the team will have an easy game, but I expect a win in the end.

Weather Forecast for Sunday Night: 35 degrees, 5 mph wind (strangely that day is surrounded on both sides by unseasonably warm days. ZERO PERCENT chance of snow or rain.

By the time they leave for Philly on Friday, the Cardinals will practically be acclimated to the same level of cold as the Eagles. The cold weather city advantage isn't really working out for the northeast and midwest this year, thanks to El Nino.

Looks like Rucker and Ellington are most likely still out. At this point, I'd like both to rest and be 100% come playoff time, but, Ellington's lack of availability is beyond frustrating. He's an ideal compliment to DJ.

I thought BA said Frostee might have been ready to go if the Minny game was on Sunday instead of Thursday.

I wonder if something changed.

2013-5 catches, 72 yards and a score. And I still think Eagle fans are seeing Fitz in their nightmares from the NFC championship game: 9 catches for 152 yards and 3 scores.

Replace Rucker with Gresham and you'll be correct.

From Urban's article:

"It’s just a toe, but at the end of the day, I play running back,” Ellington said. “I need that. I need both of my (big) toes. It’s kind of limiting me a little bit from being the type of player I am. Once I get it right, I’ll be fine.”

Cornerback Jerraud Powers (calf) was injured in the 49ers game as well, but he said he is confident he will return after missing the past two games. The availability of defensive tackle Frostee Rucker (ankle) is less certain after missing the past three games.

“I feel good about Jerraud,” Arians said. “We’ll wait and see on Frostee.”
