It's a win-win especially since I don't listen early morning.

I couldn’t stand Doug, but don’t celebrate anyone losing their job. And super happy for Vince, who I have been a big fan of for a long time since his show with Chuck Powell on alternative radio.

He's still working at least. He'll now be a digital contributor on ArizonaSports.com according to the article.

Radio is so early 20th century. There is a thing called television most people use now in place of radio. Not only can you hear what people are saying, you can see at the same time what they are talking about. Wonderful invention for the modern 21st century age.

And don't forget about that coming new fangled thing they call the internet. That just might be a big thing in the near future.

I am still hoping for the day when everyone has built in retractable rabbit-ears sticking out of their heads so they can watch and hear everything anytime they want through their normal glasses.

Doug and Wolf were unlistenable to me. I don't anticipate that Wolf and Lupinski will be any better, so I won't be listening to the midday show any longer.

I get a migraine every time Gambo opens his pie hole and spews some idiocy. Burns adds nothing to talk radio.

I like Vince and can barely tolerate Bickley but don't know if I'll catch them in the morning, I usually watch Good Morning Football or Get Up! in that timeframe :)

Local sports talk radio is a vast wasteland of inanity overall. I stopped listening to it pretty much when I retired except for Bickley and Marotta once in a while.

I don't often listen unless they have a special guest but I usually use the internet when I tune-in.

Vince is the PA guy for Suns games and now has to do early morning radio. I wouldn’t feel too happy for him.

That's usually the path out until your contract is up. I think that's the route Asher & maybe Jurecki had at least. Maybe I'm wrong, but I bet he'll do a couple of articles here and there before disappearing.

my complaint with Doug and Wolf was that they were often like listening to an old married couple who would snipe at each other.

Lapinksi is much more even keeled, and might be a good foil to Wolf's over the top stuff-- gently corralling him rather than Doug's smart alec-ness. Its worth wading through Wolf's schtick on the Cards because he knows (generally) what he is talking about and talks to people at Cards HQ, so you get perspective.

I think Vince and Bickley are good and have a solid commitment to the local teams, yet aren't afraid to criticize either.

Burns/ Gambo. For some reason , 98.7 decided to make Gambo their local "insider". I think 90% of his observations are regurgitated from the internet. I think the only reason he gets Cardinal insider stuff is due to him working at the flagship rather than tight connections with people at Cards HQ.

It's so funny to see them **** a "Breaking Story from inside sources" that comes out in a press release

I had an interesting interaction with Doug about 14 years ago or so. I sent him an email when he was talking about payers named in the Mitchell Report and steroids. I kept referring to Sammy Sosa when talking about the players. I pointed out that Sosa wasn't in the report and while it's obvious he was on something, he should be careful about being accurate. I was nice, presented facts and even mentioned the corking incident. He replied that I was a moron and to shut up and let the professionals do their job. A few hours later the station manager replied with an apology. Apparently they see all of their emails. He stated I was correct and that Doug had no reason to get personal and gets defensive. He said that when he's called out and is wrong, he isn't the best at owning it.

As obnoxious as Wolfley can be, I'm not sure how he never knocked Doug out. I know the almost got into it once on air when Doug responded in a similar way and called Wolfley a name.

Good riddance!

Yeah - basically, Doug was arguing that the Raiders brand is pretty much irrelevant today. Wolf countered that the Raiders still sell tons of merchandise and it is a well known brand. Wolf's take seemed more accurate. Doug then basically insinuated that Wolf was too stupid to understand his point, and Wolf seemed ready to punch his head clear off his body.

Just so we are clear, Doug still has a job, he just won’t be on the air anymore. I wish him the best for sure, but his time had come. He has the sense of humor of a substitute teacher. Which is fine if you’re a substitute teacher, it isn’t fine on a morning drive show.

The funny thing is if Doug had said image - which is what I think he meant - and not brand - that entire argument never happens. His point I thought was that the Raiders don’t scare anyone and they aren’t a destination team for players. They haven’t been for decades. But that’s not how he said it and he was really condescending and defensive about it to the point where wolf was justified in feeling attacked.

Doug has a contract. He will be out of 98.7 after this contract when it runs out IMO. Until he will producing "digital content".

Jody Oehler now has no chance against Bickley and Marriage if ever though he had a chance against Doug and Wolf.

is being in the 6-10 spot considered an upgrade over 10-2? I'm actually disappointed I won't ever hear bickley and morotta now

There's this thing called a car. It has four wheels, an engine, you drive them on things called roads, and it's usually a bad idea to try to watch TV while operating one.

Bickley and his shock jock routine annoys me. Gambo doesn't know football well enough.

I know a lot of people don't like Wolfley, but I love his exuberance for the Cardinals and he knows football.

If there was a Cardinals only radio station, I'd listen to that. I hate hearing Diamondbacks. I like hearing Suns, but still want mostly Cardinals talk.

I’m pretty bummed. I listen to the radio all day and enjoy Bickley and Marotta. With them in the morning I will only get to here their last hour. I like Luke as a fill in guy but not sure if he and Wolfe can put together a show that I will enjoy on a daily basis. I found Doug and Wolfe to be virtually unlistenable.
