When we pick at #20, there always is a guy or two who fall through the cracks, and we get an early Christmas present. But my question, could anyone/everyone list from five to ten guys who should be available when we pick? Thanks.

What I am thinking at this point is:

Dee Ford or Ryan Shazier

The potential slider may be Anthony Barr.

But, what's surprising is that BA&SK haven't gone after a SS in FA as of yet, which could mean they are targeting:

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix or Calvin Pryor

I had the sense last year that they were hoping like crazy to draft S Eric Reid with their top ten second round pick. They would like a big, aggressive safety.

Right now I would say that one of those 5 players will be the pick.

Got to take a guy named Ha Ha.

IMO he's not gonna bring the nastiness Pryor will. I think Pryor has HOF potential. Plus, keep in mind most of the high profile Bama players in the last 4-5 years haven't been all the successful at the NFL level.

Walter Football has him as the Cardinals selection in their latest Mock Draft.

Mitch, I agree on the players you mentioned we probably will be in line for. In fact, I would trade up to around 14-15 to ensure we get Pryor if the cost isn't to much.

Mitch, Those guys are Free Safeties. Cards really need a Strong Safety. Best are Jimmie Ward - Northern Illinois and Deone Bucannon - Washington State. Both are considered 2nd round picks. Also don't rule our Ahmad Dixon - Baylor. They interviewed him at the Senior Bowl. (which may mean nothing). He could be a nice 3 round pick. Very hard hitter.

I think both of Ward and Bucannon would be up there on our 2nd Rd. board, mtl. A good RT may be had as well. Here are the rankings by CBS for OT's after the first five:

Morgan Moses Virginia OT 2014 6-6 314 5.35 6

*Antonio Richardson Tennessee OT 2014 6-6 336 5.30 7

Jack Mewhort Ohio State OT 2014 6-6 309 5.37 8

Billy Turner North Dakota State OT 2014 6-5 315 5.16 9

Joel Bitonio Nevada OT 2014 6-4 302 4.97 10

Very possible we take one at 52, imo.

Pryor can play either & will probably be a better SS given his ability to be an enforcer & play in the box. Being in Texas, I've seen lost of Baylor football & Dixon is overrated IMO.

They very well could as some that you listed could become quality starters. Moses did well at Senior Bowl practices. Getting a good RT in round 2 would certainly give us a nice young line for many years.

Clinton-Dix and Pryor have the size and physicality to be very good strong safeties. Plus, you can flip them in the nickel and play them deep. Which, by the way, Todd Bowles likes his safeties to be interchangeable.

Jimmy Ward is smaller, so to a lesser degree is Deone Bucannon, both of whom I too like a lot---I would be delighted if we took either of them---but they are not as physically imposing as Clinton-Dix or Pryor.

You saw Eric Reid---could he be a very good SS? You bet. he would be a monster there---this (big, athletic) is the mold Steve Keim is looking for.

Mitch, I'm still scared away of the lack of production in the NFL of Bama players, especially a 1st rounder.

I would love to have Calvin Pryor fall to us at 20. He is the exact blend of player that Bruce Arians likes in the secondary to either play up in the box with strength, or deep in coverage as well. He would be an ideal fit for this.

I hear you. There are times on tape where I am not sure what Ha Ha is doing---he doesn't strike me as being particularly savvy. But, he does have some very good instincts and he can react to the ball in a flash.

Of the two, I like Pryor better. His head is always in the game and he gets after it every play.

This is the same with Jimmie Ward---love that kid. Wish he was a little bigger, but then again after seeing The Badger making plays all over the field, imagine having Badger and Jimmie working in tandem. That would be exciting!

Me too fish! I think Pryor takes our D to a differant level...nastier, with more of an attitude & better! IMO I don't think the other safeties bring that bravado to the table & you have to take into account the results with his acquisition.

If I'm Keim & he's on the board at 15 I'm trading up to ensure we get him. :D

4th that emotion. Pryor is an absolute beast. I don't know what adjective goes beyond beast but that's what he is.

He is the counter-punch to those two Seattle safeties.

If he is there at 20, you get Ted Ginn to sprint the pick to the podium.
