but he sure throws a lot of jump balls.
What are the two plays the Cardinals can run with almost 100% success rate? Jump balls and fades. What are Clausen's two best throws? Jump balls and fades. Given the failure rate of Junior QBs, I wouldn't want him if he declared for this draft but if Warner retires and the team bombs to the point where he is on our board in 2011, I would definitely not be opposed to drafting him.

Except Warner has proven he can put points on the board, while Leinart has not.

Good thing the Cards didnt' give up on Warner after they only scored 10, 14 and 10 points in games 2-4 in 2006 with Kurt at QB at a time when KW's rep wasn't the greatest.

McCoy and Tebow will never be better NFL QBs than Leinart because you can't run the zone read and QB draw and throw the ball sideways 23 times a game in the NFL.

Leinart is not Warner that's for sure, but he did a great job in managing the game today. He did not turn the ball over and passed for 220 yards, the fact that we lost on our last defensive series, more playmakers on defense is more of a priority.

Tebow? Really? I think linebacker and offensive tackle are just a *bit* more of an issue. Luckily you aren't in the war room during the draft.

Didn't put points on the board.

And why would I list Clausen and Lockler? They're Top 10 picks. The Cardinals won't have a Top 10 pick.

Last time I looked when he left the field we had the lead. I an improbable drive by the titans. Our Defense has been exposed on occation, we are in need of more youth and athleticism, and speed.

Matt made some nice throws managed the offense. I'm not giving up on him.

Don't forget the Johnson ran all over us. TH had a good game, Beanie not so much. It helps alot when you can run the ball.

VY had a marvelous game, he made a bonehead mistake at the end of the half. And bailed himself out, with the drive at the end.

Aha. Tebow can play LB,QB,TE,FB and/or OT. He is Superman according to the Gator Nation. So draft him and play him wherever he is needed most. :D

But having said that, the NFL rules make it almost impossible to stop the scoring teams. Look at New Orleans, Indy, New England, Philadelphia, etc.

Warner is one year at a time and there must be 10-15 draftable QBs in this draft, none need to be taken in the 1st round.

Jimmy Clausen
Tim Tebow
Sam Bradford
Jake Locker
Ryan Mallett
Jevon Snead ?????
Colt McCoy
Christian Ponder
Tony Pike
Dan LeFevour
Zac Robinson
Max Hall

etc.

Not much separation in that pack.

Ryan Mallett.

Wikipedia is pretty high on him:

Ryan Mallett (born June 5, 1988 in Batesville, Arkansas) is an American football quarterback at the University of Arkansas.[1] Mallett formerly played for the University of Michigan. Ryan Mallett is pretty much the best person ever. He can throw the ball a billion yards, and when he looks at you, you know he means business, because his hair shines like the morning sun and he has the eye of the tiger.

Its always the same people. Why do we even react anymore? Every group of people is going to have a few people who are going to be contrarian just to be contrarian.

And some are just going to have dumb opinions. I bet "the future" didn't even watch the actual game.

I just laughed out loud reading this post. I agree that Leinart played a good game, but did you seriously just call someone out for being reactionary and negative about Leinart?

I think Leinart will be fine.. He played good. But to answer the question, being a gator fan, I would love to draft Tebow and what he could bring to the team. But if we were talking just QB, I would have to go with Pike.

Sure. But then we have to give ML even more to stand on the sidelines and not sure he can lead this team when KW retires.
There in lies the delema.

Eh just forget all that QB nonesense, wait a year and draft this guy.

http://www.blainegabbert.org/

6 ' 4 and a rocket for an arm.

NFL QB written all over him, he's got a better arm than I've seen in years, you don't see it too much in the spread they run but it's an absolute cannon arm.

He had a good year considering he got hurt in the Nebraska game pretty bad and still played the year out with a sprained ankle.

He's not all that right now, he's very green but he's going to have everyone drooling over him by the time he declares.

Stout - if you have been paying attention I am Leinarts biggest fan. L

ast week after the game where he looked skittish in the pocket, didn't set his feet, and failed to lead a drive past the 50 against the freaking Rams I was sure I had just put years of time into a failed stock. My coworkers were making jokes on Monday as they wanted to record my new sentiment that Leinart would never make it from what I saw in the Rams game and that Matt and I were getting a "divorce".

After yesterdays game we reconciled :)

But I am done overreacting on him. I am not saying anything definitive one way or the other. I just can't see how anyone could watch the last three quarters of that game yesterday and not come away happy with how Leinart showed in a much tougher environment with no practice time. I just don't get it. The skittishness, overthrows, and overall lack of confidence I saw in St Louis the week before were just.....gone.

I am also concerned with Clausen off the field. Considering many think Matt was immature when he arrived, taking a kid like Clausen who has been in trouble connected to alcohol a couple of times at ND already would scare me.

Not sure on Mallett to be honest. Great arm, just not sure if he's a great QB?

You do know the Browns are much worse than the Raiders & likely to win only 1 game. Boy are they bad!!!

On the bright side, being as bad as the Browns are means that you really can take bpa instead of focusing on a need.

You know it is conceivable that we could have one of our starting linebackers back next year, which would be Hayes. As far as i am concernted we need to draft linebackers, OT, DT, and then a QB.

I think we should draft linebackers, linebackers, more linebackers and then, just to be safe, another linebacker. I also wouldn't mind seeing a mid-late round pick used on a QB that has potential to develop. Even if Matt has to finish out the year due to Kurt's injury and plays well enough to be our #1 guy, he's the only QB on the roster on the right side of 30.

Maybe we can draft Danny Sullivan from ASU, his jump spike is the best in the NCAA's and big money says he is available from here till eternity.
