I caught the tail end of a NFLN comment that SK wasn't going to let the Cards get "jumped" like they did when they were leapfrogged to lose out on D Watson.

Anyone hear the full report? Any additional input on this?

Thanks, I have this feeling and I think they like Lamar
U dont sign 2 qbs for 2 years if u think to get one among Rosen, Mayfield,Allen, darnold
Jackson is just 21 and need some further work to do on his mechanism
Couple of years before he starts for us, but in the same time can be used for some trickery plays

You are probably right and I would be happy. Wilks had an athletic QB in Newton while at Carolina. Arians has said how he likes LJ and you know how close him and Keim are. To get jumped means someone getting ahead of you in your current spot... very possible

A personnel executive told me today that he thinks the Browns pick Sam Darnold No. 1 because "he's the only one worthy of it. Period." This exec also thinks 5 QBs will go Thursday night.

And yet BA & his boss got jumped twice for 2 QBs they supposedly coveted & he’s never really had a QB whom runs a lot & uses lots of RPOs.

Btw Jet Wilks really didn’t “have” an athletic QB since he was the DC & not the HC. Imo we’re still not sure what kind of QB Wilks like given he’s got 2 of the most non mobile guys in the NFL as his QBs as speak

I am on record for supporting three QB in this order, Mayfield, Rosen and Lauletta. I have also said I am intrigued by Jackson. Have a strange feeling about Darnold, have nothing to do with Allen and sort of meh on Rudolph but can see he has a chance.
So he got jumped twice, which might reinforce that he really does not want it to happen again. Lamar, Rudolph and Lauletta are the three 'second' tier guys outside of the top four in our draft range.
Wilks did have a athletic QB because he was part of the staff in Carolina, whether he coached the offense or not and Newton decided the fate of everyone which called themselves a Panther. I think Wilks was happy with his time there. We are gong to trade. Trade the plantation for Mayfield, the farm for Rosen, the tractor for Jackson or a farm tool for Lauletta... getting back into the first for contract reasons in my opinion :)

What’s I sad to me about this is I liked Watson more than anyone in this draft. Tough that Keim had to learn his lesson losing out on him.

Could be, as usual, quite frenetic tonight. Teams open to moving back in first round include the Ravens, Seahawks, Lions, Titans.

Been with Browns all week and I will repeat what I have reported for the last two days, Mayfield should not be ruled out as the top pick. Others in play but so is Mayfield.

The #Saints have made plenty of calls about making a big leap up from pick No. 27, I’m told. Could be due diligence in case a certain player (perhaps a QB) falls. But they will be well-prepared to move tonight if it comes down to it.

Sources are now saying Baker Mayfield could go at 1, and if not 1 maybe 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 (per sources)

Reading these rumor threads from the experts just reinforces my belief that none of them know anything lol, if everyone is trading back and everyone is trading up and every qb is going number 1 or 2 or 3 .etc...someone is bound to be right by throwing enough against the wall to make it stick...my head is spinning :thud:o_O

Yeah PFT has an article.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-discussing-a-big-move-up-in-the-first-round/

Typically if a team is looking to make a big leap up in the first round, that team is looking to draft a quarterback. So the Saints may think they can make a move for the heir apparent to Drew Brees.

Who would it be? It’s probably not realistic to think New Orleans could move up high enough to get Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold. Josh Allen, Josh Rosen or Lamar Jackson might be available with a pick somewhere in the range that the Saints could go up and get.

So this might be the team that jumps us and perhaps the Bills/Miami to get a QB that falls.

Where my head is at:

if a top 4 guys doesn't fall to where the Cards can get him for a stiff but reasonable trade up price --

I'm trading down as often as possible -- maybe all the way out of round 1. Seems like there is good demand for teams wanting to move up
