Heard a small snippet from the Seattle Coach. He said there game plan going in was not to throw to the side where Cromartie was located. Said he was to fast and quick to the ball. He thought they could successfully work the other side. He was correct.

Especially, John, when you allow Mike Williams leverege on the slant...his bread and butter. You HAVE to take that away...you have to shade it either with the CB or the S...the Cardinals in two games did neither and they gave up what 23-24 catches for close to 270-280 yards?

Even worse in some respects, while Toler hit him hard a couple times, like on the bang bang near fumble, neither Arian Wilson nor Kerry Rhodes ever punished him...never. And many times they weren't even close to the play...which means there was NO preparation for Williams...not just once but twice in 3 weeks.

Whiz says the planning was fine?

He is lost.

When Fitz runs the slant, do the safeties try to punish him? Constantly...this is how Fitz got injured.

Don't put it on Whiz man, his job as coach is to tell Davis not to let Williams beat us, at any costs. I'm sure, quite sure--because the guy would have to be an idiot otherwise--Whisenhunt did that. Davis is the idiot. He didn't gameplan Williams at all. At ALL. We didn't take anything away, it's ridiculous.

I wonder if Whiz ever gives a thought to hiring a OC or if anyone above him has made a suggestion to him? As am OC in Pittsburgh he was promoted to HC in Arizona. He apparently just did not want to leave his former job behind him. I assume that was discussed before he was hired? I must note that he did have a couple of years of success but that was with Warner who was his own play caller. I bet Warner overrode the call Fitz called in 50% of the time. Some people are never open to change when things are not working. It is like admitting you were wrong and some cannot do that. When a team faces hard times a Head Coach has to be able to shift gears. We had this problem at Arkansas and I think it was with Ken Hatfield. In the end he did hire and OC under pressure from Frank Broyles. It may have been Gus Malzon right out of high school. Malzon was an still is an offensive genius. Some NFL team needs to pick this guy up as an OC I think he is the OC at Auburn now. You can be sure that at some point he will be an NFL OC and then head coach. In my dreams I have pictured him as our OC. I wonder if Graves ever offers any advice to the head coach? Anyone here think we will not draft a QB with our first pick?
I think we are likely to draft in the top ten which would put us in line to get one of the top three QB's. There are some good pro prospects coming out this year. Some of the teams that will pick first grabbed a QB last year.

Why not put DRC on Williams? Seems obvious to me as a wr is torching you lol

Well according to the coaches the Cards do not do that. Each CB has a side and that is how it is regardless of who they are playing. As Whis says "our system works"..............well it sure doesnt seem to be. All game I was yelling for DRC to cover Williams.

There was a game earlier in the season where DRC was put on a wr regardless of what side he was on. Cant remember what game. Falcons I think he was put on White.

And get abused like he did in the first game. :mulli:

So, it's DRC's fault that our inept defensive coordinator had him lining up 10 yards off the LOS, allowing Williams to eat him alive on quick slants? He had 11 catches for 87 yards, a 7.9 yards average, in that first game. It's not our corners fault that dumb____ davis doesn't know how to scheme against a slant. Hell, even Nnamdi Asomugha couldn't defend the quick slant if he was playing our typical soft ass coverage all game long.

DRC gets eaten up plenty even when he is man up in press coverage on WR's.

Marshay Green doesn't. Why is he still on the practice squad? Idiot coaches.

;)

Who knows I like the kid too. Should be returning punts and playing as a dime CB IMO.
