I'm a fan of the guy, and I think that anyone genuinely expecting better at the backup QB position is kidding themselves. This is more or less the perfect fit for us and him.

Why would they even think of not resigning him? Who would you want as backup if CP went down. I can't think of anyone that I would rather have as a backup then Stanton.

Not IMO you always look for QBS a 7thrd pick rarely sticks a 3rd string QB may show something in preseason and becomes trade bait
