Deuce told Kent all he said was he had DAs back no matter what. Then he said DA replied with Thanks and thats all they were smiling about. (just saw it on ESPN) Why didn't DA just say that in the post game?

Yep I saw it too. Somers said he was essentially trying to do DA a favor, he'd been getting texts and tweets from fans blasting DA so he thought he'd give DA the forum to explain it so the fans would understand. But at some point "I was just doing my job" as in when he wouldn't answer the question my job is to keep asking it. He said DA has always been polite and professional in the past and he didn't know what set him off last night.
Lutui had no issue answering the question and as you said, if DA had given that answer, it would have blown over.
I do think it's got to be tough for a player to be booed like that in your home stadium but what do you expect from the fans who are paying good money to see such a crappy product with so little effort? Especially given the history of this franchise and then the recent success, we feel like they pulled the rug out from under us this year.

DITTO... been saying this about DRC since the beginning of the season. Man I wish someone (Wilson would be great!) would slap that PUNK smile off his face!!
Sadly, there is nobody on this team who seems willing or able to take the lead in this manner. Hell, not even the coaches... I LOVED it when Haley would mix it up with the players! When he wanted a piece of Q, that was awesome! When he and Kurt would get into their heated battles... LOVED IT!
Now, we get to watch our putrid starting QB and OT yucking it up on national tv during the worst televised beatdown of the season...
Oh God nobody can stink it up better than the Cards!!!

I'm not buying either. That wasn't an, "Aww shucks, thanks for believing in me Deuce" smile. That was a laugh. Deuce may have said something supportive but to get a laugh it would have to be more along the lines of, "Hey, I got your back bro. No matter how sucky we play, we're still millionaires at the end of the day." ....or "At least we're not in Cleveland."

Bob Kemp was talking about this today. The problem was the DA straight out lied in the press conference. The first thing he said was, "I wasn't laughing." Sorry, DA, but ESPN showed you laughing. So Somers challenged him on it, and Derek was embarrassed for getting caught in a lie.

Can you tell me at what second mark in that video he is distinctly laughing? Because all I see is a smile? I don't see any of the shoulder moving up and down or body movement you get when someone is laughing?
Everyone on here refers to him laughing and I just plain don't see it. I see a big smile caused from a guy in Lutui who from all accounts is very funny.

If you can't see that he's laughing on the sideline with Deuce, I don't know what to tell you. What do you want, me to provide audio? He's smiling and chuckling on the sideline. Believe whatever you want; you're clearly in the minority on this one. He's clearly not feeling as bad as I was watching him stink up the field and getting 6 first downs in 4 quarters of play.

He sucks.
Looked at it about 10 times. Don't see a laugh. See a guy smiling and nothing more.
But in typical ASFN and media fashion things get blown into something more.
Not excusing it. But to say he is clearly laughing is about as big a stretch as they come.
