Is giving ASFN$ to someone supposed to, uh, mean something? Someone gave me some a little while ago, but I didn't thank him or anything. Am I in breach of funny-money etiquette?

A PM thanking someone for A$FN is a nice gesture.

Not sure how it works either. Each member got $1K as "house money" and I think you can use it for VBookie (virtual bets) here on ASFN???

My dumb question: Are the vbookie bets zero-sum?

For example, if 5 people bet 100 points each against the suns, and 1 person bets 100 points for the suns, how much do the 5 people win when the suns lose? Do they each get 100 or do they each get 20?

My guess is no. First of all, that requires some pretty sophisticated real-time updating of the odds, and even then all you can really hope for is long-term balance. But also, abomb already has more than $1M, and I don't see how that much money can be in the pool without major inflationary mechanisms.
