It’s no surprise he deals with ppl always falling into his legs. He’s literally unlike anything you will see from a body aspect.

DAMN it will be nice to have a player that can get to the stripe without having to flop to sell it.
I have no idea how but I'd like to get a bump I the rebounding department, second chance points could put this team out of reach for most teams in the playoffs.
A chip this year would be nice but I'm not expecting it tbh. We would have to gel really quickly, not impossible but not realistic either.

I'm pumped for the next 4 years and cant wait to see this team in full stride. Also can't wait to see who shows up to jump on the title train, maybe some more ballas in our future.

Based on the Nets wanting to accommodate his wishes it's likely the deal wouldn't have happened anyway, but them keeping both JJJ and Bane off limits is pretty absurd. It's debatable if anyone else on the team even has as much value as Johnson, and it's not like the Nets can go all in on youth since they don't have their own picks.

Bane lol. He has potential but they shouldn’t be kidding themselves.

I was sorry to see that the new Suns owner didn't have that much faith in the previous Suns core to win a championship, or generally much patience. He had to make a big noisy splash as owner, and also win now Now NOW. But...I understand well enough the logic of his position. As owner, he inherited a group assembled by a previous ownership regime. He had no objective or personal attachment to it. Why should he consider any of his players untouchable except Devin Booker, who gets a pass due to his stature as a player. The owner also has to simply make money, and Kevin Durant will sell mo' tickets than Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson.
Man I’ve seen a lot of wacky posts from you, but this one . . . well . . . Yeesh.

If that offer from the Grizzlies was the second best offer, it only reinforces my belief that we wildly over paid.

We should have waited them out. You could take Bridges out entirely and our offer still beats it.
This position is relying on the fact nets had to deal at deadline. They didn’t. They didn’t have to take the best offer. The multiple years on the contract gave them more leverage than anyone wants to admit.

right. We could have waited. But then it would have been this summer and we would have wasted another playoff season in the life of Book, Durant, and CP3--especially the last two. Having Durant for half a year and the playoffs is worth it. You trade for the contract of the player, not just the player. KD's contract would have less value--and rightly so--this summer than it does now.

I was skeptical in the beginning, but all things considered, I think it was the right move.

Ridiculous is the word that usually comes to mind…
He is right though, that KD will sell more tickets than Mikal and Cam. Of course, that is not the only, or even the primary reason for this trade. JJ made the trade, and the owner signed on. The reason that it had not been made in the past was the unwillingness of JJ to take a trade to Sarver that would cost him so much money in lux tax. So, if it is about money, yeah, more revenue, but no, the lux tax cost is a lot more. Winning a championship is the goal.

I'm not sure what cut, if any, the Suns get on tickets being moved in the resale market, but selling tickets hasn't been an issue. They've sold out every game since the beginning of the 2021/22 season.

Now merchandise... yeah, that will go up, especially if we make a deep playoff run.

The team shop can't keep up with demand on a lot of the jerseys.

I hate the price we paid but I'm sure I will like the trade a lot more when Durant is on the court.
From an owner's standpoint, it's already paying huge dividends, with the price of tickets skyrocketing and guaranteed sell-outs.

So does a team make a little more if their on Prime time. TNT, ESPN or does that just go to the NBA? Suns are going to get a ton of tv next season.

don't think so. that's all part of revenue sharing deal the league makes with TV partners.

Only from a gate receipt standpoint if they are not selling out and from advertising. I am sure they charge more for Sponsors to advertise during national verses local. The rest as Cheese pointed out is determined ahead of time by revenue sharing, I believe. When I worked for Chase, I remember we would pick only certain games to advertise, and the rates were different depending on the game. Things could have changed since that was 15 years ago.

Memphis’ picks are going to be in the 20’s for a long time. If they were protected it makes them less valuable. It was a worthwhile offer for them to try considering the upgrade he’d be over Dillon Brooks.
Exactly.
