Add a three-run double in the 5th inning to Ruby's list...just missed a grand slam by a couple of feet!!

....but in a few games he will hurt his wrist and the local media will talk all about how much potential he has.

Please spare us the at-bat by at-bat results for Erubiel.
He is no longer a Diamondback.

So you don't follow players other than the Dbacks? I will spare YOU but there are other people on this board who may be interested.

Oh - I follow other players, and even follow to some degree ex-Dbacks. I just don't want to see "Look how good Durazo is doing" threads all season. He is no longer a Dback - he is an A. This is a Diamondbacks Forum.

Let's concentrate on rooting our team back to the Series!!!

Yeah, for the few games he's healthy, then you'll be looking at the WW for a replacement.

Just saw a highlight of Durazo's 5 RBI performance on Channel 12.
Somebody should call them and ask them not to show highlights of former D-Backs.

If it was not for Durazo the Diamondbacks might not of won the World Series. He had that huge home run to beat Atlanta in the NLCS. So far it looks like runs are going to be hard to come by with this D'Back offense. Luckily they play at Colorado this weekend.

No longer a DBack...

Now that Durazo is no longer a DBack, I have no problem talking about his game...I believe that he could have helped to take the DBacks to the World Series this season, and that he will help to win the title for the A's. I also believe that most of his injuries were the results of using performance enhancing drugs...I hated to see him go, and I believe that his career will end in 2-4 years...

I've got him on my fantasy team this year, but I'd think twice about taking him next season...

Continual "phudd" references is an excellent way to get yourself put on ignore status

I've made it known that I think the club made a big mistake in choosing Lyle Overbay, Mark Grace & Elmer Dessens over Erubiel Durazo & Greg Colbrunn. It's too soon to tell it that is correct and maybe we'll never know.

It seems that several fans did not like Durazo based on what they heard in the media and what they perceived to be true. Personally, I saw little evidence that Rubi was pouting, or was a worse fielder than Colbrunn or Overbay, or significantly worse than Mark Grace on defense. I freely admit my biases about the character of Mark Grace so I won't further comment on that issue.

Right now, I wish the best of luck to all the players I've named--that emotion is subject to change. I'm sure I'll be rooting for Durazo because of the unfair treatment I believe he suffered.

John points out a good option for people who don't want to follow, read about, or discuss Erubiel Durazo: "ignore".

For those who do care, I noticed that all Durazo's hits, according to ESPN.com's game logs, have gone to the opposite field. D'back fans actually watching (and not locked into a mindset) may have noticed he was going to left field often late in the season.

I wish the Diamondbacks had not traded Durazo either. Durazo hit his second home run last night and drove in 4 runs. I know the Diamondbacks miss his bat as does Gonzo.

I believe that Erubiel will hit 40 HR and drive in 100 runs as DH in the American League. I believe also that he would never do that as a position player. Let's face it, he never did do that when given the chance in the NL.

Some players thrive on being in the center of action on the field. They'd be a basket case sitting in the dugout for all but 4 at-bats. Durazo is the opposite. Both physically and emotionally, he'll do his best as a DH.

DH'ing will preserve his health. And not having to spend half of his time as a defensive liability will sustain him mentally.

Did you ever notice how he throws the ball? With an overhand wrist flip! When I was a kid, they would have said, "He throws like a girl." (Happily, that kind of comment has passed from the scene.)

Durazo doesn't belong in the field. The D'backs would never has seen the kind of seasons that Ruby will have in the American League. As much as we need a power bat to join Gonzo in the 3-4 spots (see the LINEUP thread), Durazo would never have been the one!

Well while there might be something to defensive play at 1B providing extra strain on him, all of Ruby's injuries were on the offensive side of the ball, so I don't quite see how not playing 1B will quell those (or how playing 1B will worsen them).

Ruby was bad at 1B, he's Mo Vaughn bad, he's Andres Galarraga bad, he's Fred McGriff bad. But you know, all those guys play in the NL (or Big Cat did) and Ruby can out hit all of em.
