I'm wondering if anyone knows how you might go about making a video clip for the web from a DVD.

I have a DVD of skydiving, but obviously can't put that on the web...so is there someway to make a low quality mpeg from it? Or something like that?

Tony, I downloaded and tested it, but I don't see a way to transfer a clip to like a MPEG or AVI file...all I can do is rip it off for putting onto a new DVD...unless I'm missing something?

There are programs you can download that will allow you to pull clips from mpeg 2 files (DVD rips). Unfortunately, I'm only familiar with the Mac equivalents, so I can't be specific about PC.

When you download the movie to your computer, it should have made a folder with the video's name in your c:\ directory. Look for those files, locate the file with the video you want, should be in a .VOB format. If so, you will need to find a VOB 2 MPG, or VOB 2 AVI converter, search google for that. Most converter should come with an editor so you can remove some of the video, and make clips of what you want to keep.

I hope this helps, if you run into any problems, let me know.
