Thought this tweet from Fitz earlier in the week was an interesting look into how at least one of the Cardinal leaders views on D Wash's reinstatement. Granted, Fitz doesn't have much pull with the organization when it comes to troubled players (see Floyd) but he appears to have an open mind about him.

It's a sticky situation when someone has chronic problems like this. Both sides need to come together and make a joint decision. Keim needs to be blunt with D-Wash and find out if the fire is still lit to make plays between the hash marks.

This is not so much about whether DWash can still play. I firmly believe he can still ball like an All Pro, even at 30/31.

What the Cardinals FO likely want to hear is... Humility, honesty, and a contrite heart. If DWash can demonstrate that he's truly sorry for his dishonesty, for letting the organization & fans down AND is committed to doing whatever it takes to rebuild their trust, I have NO doubt they will welcome him back with open arms.

Big if. He basically signed and took possibly a planned hiatus. They need to see if he's really dedicated to the team or himself. And what shape he kept himself in compared to where he was. If he' s injured it's Mtl over and the org. is on the hook.

I see what you did there... and I love it!

I mean, what can he say this time that he didn't say the last time he was suspended? He's a liar. Here's what he said last time:

"I was always taught that when you make a mistake, you admit it, learn from it and face whatever consequences there are," Washington said in a statement. "I take full responsibility and I understand that I let down my teammates, the organization and fans. I apologize for that and promise that no one will work harder to make up for it."

That was the statement he made after his 4-game suspension was announced.

And I see what you did there.

He needs to be cleared of the DV issue first.

His DV punishment was done over his 3 year suspension. The only thing he needs to do know is pass every test they throw at him during the off season, OTAs, preseason, and he will be fully reinstated.

The cards need to find a way to get rid of him. His potential future success should be attempted with some other franchise.
