Sorry if I missed this in another thread. But why, oh why, does Whisenhunt refuse to use James when it's obvious to me and the TV broadcast crew that he is a better alternative to Hightower?

It was hilarious when the Fox broadcast was trying to find a positive for the Cardinals in the fiasco and all they could come up with Edgerrin James. Yet Whisenhunt continues to play an ineffective, fumbling, pass-dropping Tim Hightower. Hightower had at least one fumble and two pass drops before I turned off the fiasco in disgust. What's wrong with this picture?

E.James 4 carries, 19 yards, 4.8 yards per carry
T.Hightower 10 carries, 17 yards, 1.7 yards per carry

Everything.

You need two backs for Whiz/Grimm's philosophy:

I am not typing this all out again, these were my thoughts before the Pats game and there are the same after the game as well:

IMO, he's going to start losing credibility if he doesn't relent and start getting Edge ready for the playoffs. I'm fully aware he isn't the long-term solution, but we need SOMETHING from the run game. This team is going to fare better with getting a 2-4 yards per carry and the ability to find a crease versus the alternative IMO.

I am not sure he is not saving the wear and tear on Edge for the playoffs. If this is not the case then I really have question Whiz on this one. Outside of the one Ram game Hightower has not been able to do much which coincides with the problems this team is having and becoming one dimensional.

Sure he is seeing the same thing that many of you have been the last 8 weeks and refusing to admit it. TH is not the answer and Edge is still the best back on the team and should be playing and sure some of if not most of the players agree at this point.

IIRC, he didn't show up for the practice during the bye week, therefore pissing Whis off to the nth degree.

I agree with you, but only for the rest of this year.

In reality there is no answer in the backfield what so ever.

Edge is not the answer, Hightower is not the answer, and Arrington who may be partof the answer has consistancy issues.

Then he needs to grow up and get over it.

And, accept his own responsibility for the attitude towards practice. How seriously do you think these players take practice? They've gotten Mondays off after humiliating defeats to Philly and Minny. The week of the Philly game, they didn't even bother to put on helmets. That bye week, that was the only practice and, of course, it was in shorts with no pads. Is it any wonder that players are taking practice lightly?

Sorry, but this has been the one thing that has bothered me about Whis since day one.

I don't know about that.

I see your point, but it is hard to argue the fact that our injuries have been kept to a minimum this year.

Especially on the offensive and defensive line.

But as you said we are playing very "unaggressive football"

That is a tough one, there should be a balance in there.

Well, the run game was quasi-effective for the first few games. The play-calling has changed because they fell for the illusion that Hightower has speed to get the corner and run out of the shotgun. Go back to what worked the best. Use Edge in a powerrun game, Hightower in short yardage and Arrington in the gun.

Since becoming the starting running back, Hightower has averaged only 2.9 yards per carry.

Dammit Edge you missed a practice I am going to bench you for 8 or 9 weeks! Give me a break Whiz needs to get over himself this is a team and I gaurantee you the players want Edge playing and playing alot more, Whiz is hurting this team right now with dumb decisions! Playing Kurt until 44-0 in the blizzard was a ******** decision as well. If your going to lose that bad at least try to protect your players for your last 2 games of the season.

Hey, I like no injuries too. And, I'm not saying he should be running the Oklahoma drill. But, at least make the players earn these breaks they have been getting. If they play like crap, get them out on the field ASAP and work on the mistakes they made.

I've read a number of your posts in numerous threads and I'm still a little unsure where you stand on the running back issue. Could you please clarify whether you're for or against Edge.:bang:

I am for success for the team, how about you? or better yet how about Whiz? We got absolutely smoke yesterday and Edge had 4 carries in a game that was perfect for getting him the ball a bunch of times, so what does our coach do? You guessed it tried to throw the ball around with Warner in a snow storm! Then to top it off leaves Warner in taking hit after hit to the tune of 44-0 before he decides maybe I should put Leinart in. You don't have questions about this coach or his decisions?

Hopefully! And hopefully Whiz and the OC commit to the run at least a little bit more! If Warner don't like it so what this is the play I called and should be ran the coaching staff needs to take control before they lose everyone.

It seems a case of "cutting off one's nose to spite one's face" to me. I hope that I am wrong about that but it sure does seem Whiz is being vindictive to the 'nth degree here. Edge should still be getting at least 10 to 12 touches a game IMO.

At this point, Edge should be starting and getting almost all of the carries again. Hightower had that big game against the Rams and that was about it. As a previous poster said, yesterday was the perfect game and conditions to unleash Edge and he got 4 measly carries.

Whiz has done a pretty good job with this team, but if he treats players vindictively like he has with Edge he will lose it real quick. I hope he hasn't already lost them.
