Cardinals will place Andre Ellington (hip, sports hernia, foot) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Ellington is headed to Philadelphia to meet with a specialist this week, usually the sign that sports hernia surgery is on the horizon. He's also battled a foot injury since Week 1 and suffered a hip pointer in Week 13. Perhaps it was too big a workload for the undersized Ellington, who averaged 20.5 touches per game at a listed weight of 199 pounds. The crumbling Cardinals will have to move forward with an ugly committee of Stepfan Taylor, Marion Grice and Kerwynn Williams. Ellington's YPC plummeted from 5.52 as a rookie to 3.28 this season, and he produced just five touchdowns in 12 games.

I think he was way way over used and Wiliams play today indicates there should have been a change a long time ago. I hope he is able to come back next year.

What a gutsy season by Ellington, can't question this guy's toughness.

This is as snake bitten a team as I have ever seen, said it at the beginning of the season, and it has shown to be the story of this season.

While he's not a franchise type back, he's a great playmaker and weapon to have on your team. It's truly a shame.

The real question then is was the run game blocking all that bad or was it due to the injuries Ellington suffered from that made the run game look that bad? Not Ellington's fault BA kept running him out there. If the run game continues to keep up the pace it did yesterday then you have to question why BA didn't move to a more favorable approach to keep Ellington fresher with less carries and less possible chance of additional injuries.

At least at this point by watching Williams run yesterday and he can continue that, our offense doesn't seem that bad as we all were starting to think by having a run game. Big test Thursday against Rams defense

You also have to add Cooper to the mix too. Would having in there earlier have helped? There are a lot of what ifs?

to me Andre is another rook who had it too good too early and doesn't value what he had. His play fell off big time and all it took was a 7th round pick to prove that AE isn't the filet he thought he was.
I didn't see the passion or the drive from AE...I saw an ENTITLED player.

It is weird how people can see the same player and have two completely different views.

not sure where you saw that? The guy has been playing all year with a torn tendon in his foot. Such entitlement.
