If his foot gets a few lineman laying on it after the tackle, that can cause some issues.

If the plane crashes on the way to san diego we will be in trouble.

If they are even on a plane going to San Diego we are in real trouble. Nobody will be left here to play the game.

I have AE on my FF team, and this morning I put him on IR. I picked up another RB, Hill from Cincy, and if AE plays, I have to put him on my active roster for next week or waive him. I usually don't take Cardinals, so not to jinx them. It looks to me that AE will play, but not start, and like last year be more of a third down back. As for the Honey Badger, I doubt that he plays, and even hope that he's given another week of rest.

I have Ellington too on my Fantasy Team. I went and picked up Dwyer, though I entertained the thought of picking up Rodgers from the Falcons. I have Peterson All Day but my third back is Ray Rice who is All Suspended for two games lol

I picked up Dwyer as well. But if Ellington plays, I'm starting him.

Even if he is healthy enough to play, how effective can he be with a gimpy wheel? Anyone know the nature of this injury?

I doubt he plays, IMO. If he is not 100% and it's still bothering him, why risk it? I'd rather take our chances with Dwyer and Taylor this game and roll the dice opposed to pushing Ellington. Get an extra week of recovery to be heathly for remaining 15+ games.

The only thing I have really gotten an impression on as far as the injury goes is that "playing" won't worsen the injury.

Not sure how true that is. I run 30 plus miles a week and over did it one week and caused a muscle strain in my left foot. I ran through the pain since I was told I could not hurt it any further. Well, the other muscles around it worked harder, causing less support to the bones and it caused a stress fracture in my foot. Rest and and get it right. Unless of course it is a muscle that has mot effect on the bone, which it could be and since I am not a doctor, I will let them decide.

I dont think getting hit does anything to your foot.

One hit can knock any player out for the season.

Yes, but what is bad is that when you have a bad foot, it will continue to give you trouble. His career will be limited always due to this. One is always on his feet and his won't be able to heal during the season. It may always be a weak spot for him.

I think it is crummy that no mention of this until after all the fantasy drafts were done. I am sure they were aware that he had some foot weakness and expectations for possible problem with it. He has gone from us wondering if he can stay healthy being the #1 RB to wondering from game to game if he will even be able to play. After the games he does play, I am sure he will have to recuperate from aggravating his foot again.

I hope he can play Monday and has a decent game so I can trade him off my fantasy teams. I wouldn't have touched him if I would have known 2 weeks ago. I would trade him for Gerhart, Rice, or even Chris Johnson in a heartbeat now.

I disagree with the "it will" cause him trouble but agree with the "it may" part. But we don't know. Just sitting in my living room weighing in on something I'm clueless about, I'm very concerned that we might let him play on Monday night. It makes more sense to me to sit him and let his foot fully heal. We want him for the long run, not one game or even one season. If the team is thinking along the same lines about his career and they still feel fine with playing him, then great, bring it on.

Agree with all of this. Gotta think long term. Also think it's easy for us to feel that way, but the coach, assistants, everyone affiliated with the team, have to win now. Coaches don't last long nowdays. He's had these foot problems since college though so maybe he's learned how to manage it.

This was the worst handled story of the year. Wild speculation and rumor by local media. The national media seemed to get a better scoop on the story.

Also, every player is one hit away from being out for the season. That's football.
