I doubt he plays, IMO. If he is not 100% and it's still bothering him, why risk it? I'd rather take our chances with Dwyer and Taylor this game and roll the dice opposed to pushing Ellington. Get an extra week of recovery to be heathly for remaining 15+ games.

You just don't want to have me play him against you this week in FF. Don't lie, you know that's the reason. :D

I think Arians is in Belicheck mode where everyone "might" play on Monday. I really don't think he does. They were talking about him being out him being out 4-6 weeks earlier in the week. I am guessing this is to make the Chargers prepare for him. Unfortunately the Cards offense is pretty one-dimensional without our speedy running back.

Consider your sources. Who was it that was saying that? Was that pure speculation or someone in the know?

I don't agree that they are one dimensional without him. Although, he clearly adds more dimensions. We may see more of Brown working from that slot formation where we have seen Andre lineup.

Gambo and Burns were talking about him being out 4-6 weeks on Friday. There is just no way I see Stepfan Taylor or Jonathon Dwyer breaking off a 75 yard touchdown run. I would love it, but they are power backs, not speed backs. There is not a running back on our roster currently that can do what Ellington does.

I disagree with the "it will" cause him trouble but agree with the "it may" part. But we don't know. Just sitting in my living room weighing in on something I'm clueless about, I'm very concerned that we might let him play on Monday night. It makes more sense to me to sit him and let his foot fully heal. We want him for the long run, not one game or even one season. If the team is thinking along the same lines about his career and they still feel fine with playing him, then great, bring it on.

Steve

I think it is more about making the Chargers game plan for the possibility of him playing than him actually playing. I doubt if he plays.

Like I said consider the source. :)

Those guys are drama queens.

Haha! Unfortunately, my Matt Ryan explosion isn't going to be enough to beat you, even if Ellington doesn't play!

i remeber tim hightower not a speed back having a couple of very long touchdown run.
if u take the right hole and u take 10 yards advantage then u can be also a 4.6 and u can reach the end zone.
arian foster had many long run and he is not properly fast.
also is important to keep the top speed .
someone can reach a high top speed but then he drop the speed drastically after 30 yards

Ellington was recently quoted as being faster than both Brown and Ginn, I'm trying to timeline it with the injury report.

Just saw on Bleacher Report that Ellington's foot injury is the same one Jamal Charles had last year, got the cortisone and was fine all year... we will see

Let's hope so. Question is, will he not be as explosive and quick with the injury??

That goes for any time, any day, and any moment for any football player.

Just sayin'.

But, I would hold him out personally. It is 1 game. :D

To me, this is one of the most important games. If they lose this, it could hurt them mentially and say. "Yep, we are toast this year with all the injuries, suspensions." If they win, they can go on without thinking they need all the players they lost.

I have been telling Chargers friend all week that its probably just Arians messing with them since Lindley has the play book..
