wow, I really didn't think that Brand would go there. It makes more sense to go to the East though.

To the Magic.

My bad. Jones to the Jeat and Pietrus to the Magic. All those Florida teams look the same to me....

BTW, many of the SF papers feel the Warriors would have been better off with Pietrus over Maggette.

3) Davis gets hosed because he may have to go back to GS and the fans/teammates may be angry with him. Even if he gets his money from LA, he will not have a good team around him. Perhaps LA works some S&T deal with Philly to get some of their scraps if Philly still wants to shed some cap space for Brand?

EDIT: nm, Davis cannot go back to GS as they signed Maggette.

I believe teams can go over the cap to resign their own free agents (Bird rights) so theoretically that is still an option if Davis is looking for the max.

Okay, I've reached the conclusion that you intentionally include at least one obvious error in each post in order to make some sort of point. Am I right?

Its probably put there in order to irritate anyone that prefers a clear, concise communication, like an education professional.

J and H are next to each other on the keyboard. Its a fumble fingers thing. I empathize, I have a half digit on one hand that makes typing exciting sometimes.

The LA Clippers will always be the LA Clippers like the AZ Cardinals will always be the.......oh sorry Red Bird faithful.

Damn, I guess that makes me faithful to a fault.

Those are my teams. :bang:

As long as we pick up Josh Smith, I will be happy!

I'm betting that he has a spell checker but he ignores errors on proper nouns because they get flagged so often. How else do you explain Maggeettee (twice) and Maggette both in the same post? Either that or he's a quite a good speller but never looks back at all for typos.

I'll take that bet and wager he just doesnt look as he types. Go through his history before you throw out the proper noun claim.

It's clearly been blown out of proportion now, I just thought the consistency was absolutely amusing.

Given their history, Clipper fans probably called it before it happened.

Didn't want Maggette...even though he came back to the Clips to see if they could match GS's offer sheet. We got Baron Davis , a great PG...something we lacked for a long time and very much needed.
Brand? It was tough but if we can get Josh Smith at a cheaper price ( very likely) we can still spend the balance for a good role player.

Josh's last season numbers are just as good as Brand's last full season with us. In fact, Josh averages more Blocked shots, assists, steals & rebounds per game. The guy is more mobile with a better dribble and is only 22 years old. I'll take that as a consolation prize any day of the week.

Oh, Josh is also a better fit for Baron Davis in running the open court.

Line-up

Baron Davis
Eric Gordon
Chris Kaman
Al Thornton
Josh Smith

* Oldest player: Baron Davis (29 yrs old)

I like what I am seeing. Brand can go to hell for all I care.

I keep thinking of the WC Fields line when asked for something for his epatath, "On the whole, I'd rather be in Philadelphia".

BTW, I expect the Hawks will match any offer the Clippers make for Smith. I've not heard any suggestion that this is anything except an attempt to get more money.

He also said, "I spent a year in Philadelphia one night." :)

Ask Charles Barkley.

My read on it was that the Sixers decided not to risk losing Smith to being matched by the Hawks.
