Soon to be laid off. My last day will be this Friday the 13. How f'd up is that?

To make it worse when the lady from staffing called last week, she called me during band practice, so I was talking to her with my guitar hanging down, and the strap (which really sucks) just came off and my guitar fell and now I have a huge crack in the neck. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

O.K.........I'm bored, so I'll bite. I work at a large power plant in Laughlin, and they'll probably be shutting it down in 2005. 24 years with the company, 48 years old, and I'll be looking for work!!!
But, on the bright side, I figure the Cards will be in the Superbowl by then.

Gibson Les Paul. I put some Seymour Duncan pickups in it and it sounds awesome. For now I'm stuck using my Epiphone SG.

Oh well, at least it's not a Fender.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Don't have an electric 'cause I'm more of a strummer right now, but IF I ever get good enough to play some leads, I'm lookin' to get that very same guitar! Great choice!!!

For any of you looking for work, the construction industry is once again starting to gain steam and add jobs. You might check into that. If you're in college, look at courses and curriculum that could get you into this field. Engineering, architecture, or actual field installation are all applicable to this occupation and can lead to well paying, high profile jobs. The electrical industry has the most chance for rapid advancement as it is the trade that is growing and expanding faster than all the others.

Got laid off in January and the job market here in TX sucks.

All anyone in my postion can do is take it one day a a time, keep my chin up, and maintain a positive attitude.

Things will get better.

PS I HATE those dammmmmmed job postings on the internet that ask you to e-mail a resume to them at some address.

I have never heard one thing back in five months.

Out of over 200 resumes sent across the country and locally, had 5 interviews and been the second choice twice. I hate when they tell you that crap about we loved your experience, you interviewed so well, we really loved you and it was such a tough decision.....but the other candidate dropped to their knees so we had to go with him.

For those of you out there who are looking, I have limited needs right now but IF you have the background here is the link to my web site (I own the company or at least most of it).

This are picking up a bit so I may have needs in the next few months.

I am a website/application developer for the gov't and do extra on my spare time. Just about to buy a brand new house :) Seems my life leaps forward in luxury whenever a republican is in office! All my years in the military under clinton I almost had to live off of food stamps while being deployed in every engagement we had.

I'm in the same line of work in the Bay area. I've been lucky my company has weathered the storm without me being affected other than a paycut.

Keep looking things are apparently beginning to turn around.
