This front office needs to seriously let the Eagles know they are not budging on their offer and give them till the end of tomorrow. This is insane because in my opinion the whole importance of the QB position is holding down an already slow front office, and the Eagles who, in all respects, are not even the team with any leverage. It's like someone holding someone hostage which has no means to harm the hostage other than the hostage's own stupidity. I'm so ready to move on and get Orton signed as soon as possible. Our front office appears not able to see the forest from the trees, and it is one big tree right now named Kolb.

This is the Cardinals you know, The Arizona Football Cardinals, not St. Louis Baseball. Is this really a surprise to anyone?

Patience so far has taken potential suitors out of the running. Seattle went and got Jackson and Leinart, McNabb is going to Minny and no one else is allegedly interested. Also, more qbs are available than Kolb. Hasselbeck, Orton, and (gasp) Young can still be had.

With the Cards waiting, the market has dried up on Philly. The number of trade partners keeps going down and the supply of QBs hasn't changed much. The only leverage they have is the knowledge that we need a starting qb and that they could keep Kolb as Vick insurance and lose him outright next year.

If I were Philly, Id consider dropping the asking price to a couple of second rounders and making one conditional

Supply is high, the cost is low. First day of Free agency, with more good QB's getting cut, and other people with needs trading for others, keeping the supply high, (and the draft has already happened)....and we're thinking about this?

Trading a 2nd AND DRC, and then giving a huge extension...all for the Great QB Hype.

Irish Kevin Kolb. (and sure he may turn out to be decent, but you better know for that price...and no one possibly can)

Yeah if I open up door number 3 there might be a new car, or a monkey in a suit.

geez. Its only been a couple days. Tavaris, mcnabb, and leinart was obviously not one of our choices.. obviously the cards didnt do the suspected offer. or the deal would have been done by now. i am sure the cards are going to all avenues and getting the right price for the right guy. oh my gosh we didnt get mcnabb, jackson or even thigpen for that matter. all our options are on the table still. we still have time

Hasselbeck is now reported to be a Titan...and the Cardinals' options continue to dwindle while teams needing a QB, like Miami for one, will look at QBs like Orton with more urgency. Kolb will end up being our only option and the Eagles will take us for all we have and some if we do not show them that we could be just as happy with Orton NOW

Maybe we have already done this but I would like to get a deal for Orton worked out today and then give the Eagles a call and make our offer one last time and say it is either a yes or if not we are signing Orton.

Philly should realize that if we bolt then they're left holding the Kolb.....no one else needs to give up as much as we may be willin to give up and they won't.

I say go for Orton.....Philly's playin dumb ball.

Miami has emerged as a possible suitor for either Kolb or Orton.. How serious they are is another issue..

It has gotten to the point now, considering J. Joseph/Taylor off the market I was only in on the Kolb deal if we had a back-up plan in place to replace DRC with one of those two... now off them two 2nd round picks and a conditional 4th (that could be as much as a 2nd if Kolb wins a Superbowl and makes a probowl)...

Let them know this is our final offer and we are not going above, and have the /broncos on speed dial offering a conditional 3rd for Orton...

Sold and done...

You don't really think it's that simple do you? How many of the QBs that landed at new teams yesterday were involved in trades?

I wouldn't be surprised that the Cardinals have already reached an agreement with the Eagles for the services of Kolb and now they are working on a long term contract with the player.

That would be nice....as long as we didn't give away the farm.

Hopefully...and I hope that Graves & Co. take a page out of the Indy book of paying for QB's; big singing bonus, low salary, minimize the cap hit.

Not that I'm saying that Kolb deserves huge stacks of cash, but players seem to like guaranteed money...if he's "our guy" just get it done.

Schefter reported late in the day that if a team came to the Broncos with a 2nd or conditional 3rd the deal would be done in a heartbeat....

I think the only reason the Cards have not done this yet is because they are waiting on Kolb..

But yeah, I think it COULD be as simple as make a final offer to the Eagles and if they balk call Denver and offer them the conditional 3rd that could be a second if we win the NFC or he makes it to the Probowl..

Obviously there are other factors, but in its basic form, that may be reality..
