OK you didn't post this:
So forget I ever responded to your post.
How can I forget something you still haven't done?
In my original post I tried to make the point that our team defense and Bowles game planning and scheme is a big reason individual players are able to put up the stats. That includes Dansby. He had his best year stat wise in his 10 year career last season. Was it because of (1) he was bitten by a radioactive spider in the off-season and was endowed with supernatural powers or (2) he was surrounded by good/superior players and a scheme that put him in position to be a playmaker.
It think is is #2. CC is an elite DL and makes all the defensive players behind him better. Our DL did their job in our 3-4 scheme. JA provided a pass rush. Our DBs provided the coverage behind Dansby. DWeed paired with him and allowed Dansby to work. What part of that don't you agree with? By all counts, Dansby worked hard at his craft and was a good role model for guys like Minter. But that was maximized by the scheme and the guys he was playing with.
There's a reason Dansby had as many INTs as he did last year---he was playing with guys who worked to put him into the position to make the INTs. What was discouraging was the number of drops he had. Bowles would play the O like a chess master and set up the bad throws by what he showed earlier in the game. That's how Dansby looked so good (when he did hold onto the ball).
I don't know the Cleveland talent level or their upcoming defensive scheme. But LOS is going to be hard pressed to repeat his performance.
