I used to be on his bandwagon. Not terribly mobile but quite serviceable. Why not take a look.

I know nothing about him other than he plays a position of need. I like that his contract has only the 2 years guaranteed so it's not a long term commitment if it didn't work out. Does his style fit with the Suns and what would we have to give up to get him?

Well, his style fits with the direction the Suns seem to want to go, which is having soft bigs who prefer the perimeter to working inside. Not really what I'd like to see, but if that's the plan, they might as well get players for it.

Ilyasova is overpaid and I would guess that the market for him is pretty soft, so Milwaukee might be happy to give him away, or accept only token compensation like a distant second-round pick.

His game seriously deteriorated last year and his history depicts someone who misses 20% of his games. Defensive stats were subpar last year, too. Off last year his a below average PF. You'd have to have some strong reason to believe he'd return to his previous form to take him on at that price point.

Ilyasova (the best version of himself) is exactly what the Suns need.

The problem is MIL wouldn't trade best version of Ilyasova.

I'm not sure that I would even simply take his contract.

Ersan Ilyasova can play quite well when motivated. I'm not sure about his situation with the Bucks. He used to be one of the players I liked and thought he would fit well with the Suns. Also, Humphries used to be on my radar as well.

I'd take him for the Suns. He's overpaid, but the deal isn't too long and the Suns have the cap room. At the very least he'd provide some depth and competition for Markieff. I really don't want Markieff to be handed the starting job at the 4, I want him driven to earn it and try to beat out someone like Ilyasova.

I'm not sure how much of a "stretch" 4 Ilyasova even is though. His 3 point shooting numbers have yo-yoed pretty dramatically over his career: 36%, 33%, 29%, 45%, 44%, 28%...very odd.

Inconsistent game, slow starts, terrible slumps, not much confidence. Can go on a few streaks where he looks like the best player on the court. Fantasy feast or famine guy and it's easy to see why they are shopping him.
